I would like to know how important is to keep a catchy title for all posts… How do you choose and what comes in your mind while keeping a suitable title for your posts? Yeh… Help!
It just depends. I don't think about it too much honestly, since I'm generally not trying to catch anyone's attention with it. If I want input I'll just say hey, go read this about this and give me some input. Otherwise I write for me, not other people. Being commented on is great, but not the goal of most posts. A title the other day, was Respect. Know what it was about? Respect. It was a post for me, and so Sometimes for me it's just that simple.
Other times I feel dorky and use something like today's dorky reference to a children's rhyme. It probably won't tell you what the post is about, but when you read it maybe you'll get it. I'm not really worried about that. It's for me cause it made me smile. Cause i'm a dork that way. 4 Monkey's in the bed, will one fall off? Any guesses what the post is about?
For a long time (the first 4 months or so) I stuck almost entirely to well-known phrases, quotes, etc.
Now I'm usually a lot more sloppy with my blog titles. Occasionally I try a little mystery to draw people in, but generally I reserve that for the first paragraph itself.
