The Bloggers With The Most To Say

This question has been asked time and time again, "What do you use, Wordpress, Blogger or a different platform?"

But that's not the question I am asking.

The question I am asking today goes out to the programmers, the CSS literate, the graphic designers and those who hold the power of xhtml.

Which platform is EASIER to customize? Which is more efficient and less buggy? Which is more streamlined, sparkly and awesome at the end of the coding day?

and go.

As far as CSS and all that wordpress i would say is better. I used to have a wordpress blog, but i switched to blogger only because its easier for me to find other blogs i enjoy reading through blogger. But if you want it just for the html/css and making your blog completely and uniquely yours, i would say go for wordpress, or maybe try getting your own domain.

Tacit.

I've been toying with getting a domain for a while, but want to have things all orderly and whatnot before making the jump [initially anyway].

I have also been considering jumping ship to wordpress -- blogger is all right I suppose in that it has Google inter-connectivity all over it, but I certainly am more drawn [personally speaking] to having something that looks the way I want it to, rather than semi-tweaked within allowable parameters.

thanks for the reply! :)

I completely agree. WordPress is easy to use and you can have more creative freedom. You definitely seem like a WordPress guy.

Not to sound like an annoying spammer or anything, you sound like your comfortable with HTML and such, but if you need information on plug ins and what-not you should check out my brothers blog http://www.jonbishop.com/. He specializes in features that have to do with wordpress, gives you information on the best plug ins and is also one of the featured bloggers on 20sb under blog swap manager. I'm just letting you know to see if it will help you in your decision with wordpress of blogger.

Good luck! :-)

Shut up sis stop spamming 20SB.

Wordpress (self-hosted) is 100 percent more efficient, streamlined, sparkly and awesome. But if you are not experienced in coding and still want a customized site, Blogger's template editor is pretty good. If you really want to get your hands into html and css I'd say pick a simple Wordpress template and start playing.

I've only ever used Wordpress. So, I can't really compare but I prefer it over the others. I have the most experience with WP and I don't feel like mixing it up just yet.
I am far from being a coder, programmer, whatever, but with my limited knowledge in what I DO know (relatively basic HTML), I find Blogger much easier to customise. I used to have a Wordpress blog and was always frustrated that I seemed to have to know a LOT of programming code in order to customise it, whereas with Blogger it's quite simple to get a customised and professional looking design with only limited knowledge (at least, I like to think that http://iamthechaser.blogspot.com looks relatively professional!).

I am with Emma. I love blogger's template designer. I can customize my blog, without spending hours and hours stressed out over html. I still have to know some html, of course, to get what I really want, but for someone like me who is not technically minded, blogger is a dream come true.

I'm at www.hannahjholmes.com, if you'd like to see what I've done with blogger.

I have not used wordpress so I'll just share what I know with blogger. As far with customizing, if you are css savvy, I think you can customize blogger as well. Go to template and then from there choose edit html. After that code it to your heart's content. You can also check out my blog at http://aeinosante.blogspot.com

Thanks..

I've seen how both WordPress and Blogger work, as I use Blogger for my personal blog, but my school newspaper used WordPress to run our website. If you're not really good with graphic design and coding, I've found that Blogger is easier, and it is possible to customize it and make it your own -- it just takes some playing around. A friend of mine actually recently told me that he was surprised to find out my blog was hosted on Blogger, because it didn't look like a Blogger blog. So, it is possible to make your blog unique with Blogger, and it really doesn't take much knowledge of coding. I'm on my way to being a coder/designer, but at this point my knowledge of HTML is limited to text manipulation, linking, and putting pictures in...and that's about it.

You can definitely do WHATEVER you want with WordPress though. So it's kind of a catch-22. If you feel comfortable playing around with HTML/CSS, I'd say go for WordPress because in the long run there are more options. But Blogger does make it easy to make your blog feel unique without your brain exploding with coding. (Hey...I rhymed. Hooray.)

I thought the age old debate was about fucking on the first date?
Seriously. What is the world coming to when the "age old debate" is no longer about sex or at least love.
