Tropical Vacations
So now that my credit card debt will be paid off in less than 6 months (barring some insane disaster), I want to start shoveling some cash aside to take a vacation to somewhere with beautiful beaches and balmy weather.
I know next to nothing about which little islands are the best. Where should I go? What has your experience with tropical vacations been like?

I have been to a lot of place in the Caribbean it depends on what you want to do. I'd take Costa Rica over most of the Islands though, unless you want to just sit around and drink and that you can do equally as well at any of them.
I actually didn't care for Puerto Vallarta that much when I went last spring but we did do some snorkeling in Cozumel which was fun. I stayed at the Fairmont Mayakoba though a bit away from the night active cities, great for being able to veg out on the beach,drink or not, bike ride, or do pool or spa time.

Barefoot cruse in the British Virgin Islands. If you love the islands you will love them even more on a sailboat. That way you can go to different islands and bars etc. each night. It was the time of my life. I rented a sailboat with 7 other people and we sailed the BVI for 10 days. The scuba diving and snorkeling and “the dogs”. I just hope that you consider it. It will be a vacation unlike any other but make sure you know whom you go with; it is hard not to fall in love. It was also so hard to come home. Also consider a place called the Bitter End Yacht club.

Jamaica- especially in the summer when they have a party called ATI its the best thing i have ever done, this party is for two week, people from all over the world, its like Can cum, and they have the bost beautiful beaches, and rivers.

Australia.
Was there last summer. Went to Cairns where the temps were 80s, low humidity and very tropical. Scuba dived and snorkeled. It was amazing!

My favorite place in the world is Thailand. I would recommend it to anyone looking to get away someplace warm. If you don't like HOT humid weather, you'll be unhappy though. Second suggestion is South Africa. Loved it there and would go back in a heart beat. I've also gone to Costa Rica and liked it there as well. It was less about culture there and more about doing adventurous stuff (for me anyway). But you can be on the beach and actually swim in the ocean (which being on the east coast of the US is difficult at home!). If you go to Costa Rica make sure you go to the Turtle Beach Lodge for at least a night. Beautiful with a private beach and the place was practically empty when I was there. Plus it is near a national park, or some protected area. Great place to go!!
