The Bloggers With The Most To Say

Hello twenty somethings!

One of the things that I love about all of us is that we're from all over the place!

Coming up here in May I'm going to be traveling from the States over to the UK and I'm looking for recommendations for places to go and see while I'm over there! So the places I need help with are:

Dublin, Ireland
London, England
Edinburgh, Scotland

If anyone knows of things to do, restaurants that are a must visit, or anything like that please let me know! It's very much so appreciated! I can't wait to hear what you come up with! Thank you all so so much!

Newcastle is great if you want somewhere up North, full of friendly people (with an accent that'll make you smile!), and an amazing nightlife. Surrounding countryside is stunning and full of castles. Hope you have a great trip!
I don't know where to begin! Well, I do but there is soooooo much. In London don't miss the Tower, St Paul's Cathedral, Westminster Abbey, the British Museum, the Natural History Museum, the National Gallery, the Tate Modern etc. etc. Oh, yes, if you have a taste for the gothic there is Highgate Cemetery. I have a blog here on the place if you want to check it out.

In Edinburgh there is the Castle, Holyrood Palace, the Royal Mile, parts of which date back to the sixteenth century, Arthur's Seat, an extinct volcano. Climb to the top of this to geat a panorama of the whole city, looking over to Fife and beyond.
I couch surfed in Dublin & London last summer. What I did in both places is picked a direction and got lost. That's the best way see a place, personally.
If you've also got time at some point, pop round Inverness to see nessie, and Balmoral's an alright place to see. Just because you CAN'T come to Scotland and not see these places! OOOH and you'll need to eat haggis, as a man wearing a kilt to see the two scotsman, go to a whiskey distillery and drink Irn-Bru. Oooh yeah!
Dublin was cool, but for me it's just like any other European city. If you want to get a better feel of Ireland, try Killarney or somewhere else in County Kerry. There are a lot of day-tour trips that go all around Kerry that are based out of Killarney. For me, Ireland is the countryside. It's absolutely beautiful.

Also, while you're in England, if you're into this sort of thing, I definitely recommend taking a day trip to Stratford-upon-Avon, Shakespeare's birthplace, to see a show at the Royal Shakespeare Company. (Check tickets online first.) I saw Patrick Stewart as Claudius in Hamlet and it was brilliant. Plus it's a really cool, sleepy little town.
I agree with everything there ^_^
It's a shame you are going to London and not Birmingham. The London tourists see gives a view of England that isn't really England at all.

I can't really recommend anywhere there, but I would say if you get chance try and go to another city instead. Birmingham is my favourite in England by far.
You are welcome to contact me and i can show you round London, my friends love doing the touristy things! I will how ever be away from the 10th May until the 28th. but just let me know!
Thank you guys soooooooooooooooo so much! All of these posts are so fantastic! Keep them coming, I love it all! :-D
If you head up north visit Liverpool- lots of things to do and plenty of bars and restaurants to visit.

London- go on the London Eye, visit the British Museum. Just go exploring!
Out of those three I can only comment on London, but...
If you're hostelling "Central" is good. "Tourquet" is not. I'm sure there's plenty of other great places to stay. It's an expensive city, but fun! So much to see. Museums are free, unlike most other attractions. Oh wait, that's been said. The Art gallery is great (and part of the free thing), even if you don't love art (I'm not a fanatic) it's got some amazingly famous pieces, and it's right on Trafalgar square. An underground pass is a worthwhile investment if you're there for a few days.
In short, wander around, have some fish and chips, it 'll be fun! Oh, PS, pub meals are usually reasonable hearty fare around the country as far as eating out.
