The Bloggers With The Most To Say

How many of you have added or want to add the legal disclaimer to their blog.  I have recently added it for my beauty blog but wonder the importance of it for my personal blog...

What do you think?

Well use of the legal disclaimer is only to remind others that what is there is copyright. You don't actually have to place any legal notice at all for something to be yours it is copyright at the moment of creation. So "All rights reserved" blah blah blah is redundant. So if you have work that could be stolen or has been then putting the legal notice there is a preventative measure but fear not if you don't have it you still have all the rights just like if the notice was there and if anything did go to court you would be fine.
haha yeah it all came about with the beauty bloggers. Some people were being paid to promote products without saying so. Totally unethical but whatever. I was just wondering if other posted a legal disclaimer as well.
Thank you
Oh you mean a disclosure then, yeah you have to legally do that with the new law the FTC passed if you are getting kickbacks.

EDIT: I'm talking about if your server is based in the U.S. of course.
sorry I'm new to it all... To me it was a bunch of crap to hide that your getting kickbacks,
I think John Chow has a decent one that kind of makes fun of it all... http://www.johnchow.com/about/my-disclosure-policy/
The FTC thing is weird, as it only covers residents from the USA. I'm from the UK and getting freebies from wherever then technically I don't have to disclose it, but I have done just as it seems 'the right thing to do' so people can make their minds up if they are biased or not. I've managed to blag free tours as mine is a travel site \(^_^)/

I think you should enclose a disclaimer at the end of every post of something you review.

Copyright of your written information is different, and you can put this on your site somewhere to appear on every page. I've got one in my footer which threatens on ninja attack if people copy my stuff.
I have a 'Privacy Policy' on my blog that covers Google Adsense, their 'DART' cookie and how people can opt out of allowing the DART cookie enabled. I only put it up because Adsense put out a rule last year stating that the Privacy Policy had to be on a site somewhere.

It depends what you say. For example, I know of someone who used someone's full name and wrote a lot of not-so-savoury things about them, and consequently, person b sued the hell out of person a (the blogga) - so if you're going to have that kind of content than you should definitely make sure you're legally protected. Personally I would advise avoiding use of names if you're going to defame someone, though.
thats so messed up to write smack about someone. that's not my style of writing. i have an overall disclaimer/disclosure on my blog
