The Bloggers With The Most To Say

I am just wondering what your food backgrounds are like.

It seems... that there is a move toward "being green" and eating less meat definitely has a positive impact on the environment...

I know it is something that most people don't think about, but I wanted your input. If you are a meat-eater would you ever change? If you are vegan, what made you go vegan?

Read the Omnivores Dilemma by Michael Pollan, it'll force you to understand what really matters when it comes down to food. As for myself, I'm not a huge fan of any kind of meat, I'll take tofu stir fry vegetables over chicken any day, however I am korean and I think that obligates me to eat korean bbq on occasion. :)
I was vegan for a about a year....it is so cruel what they do to those animals besides that fact they PUMP them full of hormones and other crap that you then eat and put in your bodies. Some animals will lay dead for up to 2 days on the floor where the other LIVING livestock is...rotting and being eaten by maggots before they "dispose" of it...that would have been used for your dinner (they sometime's will get them mixed up and throw it in with the "good batch".
I haven't touched meat in almost 2 years....never will. I dont' eat eggs, I don't drink milk or eat cheese. People always ask me how I survive, but all the ignorant people in the world don't really that plants have more energy and vitamins, minerals and good for you things than any rotting carcass would. READ A BOOK, OR RESEARCH all you ignorant eaters. My bf isn't vegan/vegetarian at all so eating out isn't a problem. I've eaten meals with him and his family (we live in the south) at every where imaginable and I've never had an issue. so in response to OATS post.... eating out is easy...if your not closed minded and ignorant. I chose a variety of sides (which is often healthier for you )

My bf has also discovered so many amazing foods he would have never tried without me being vegan. hummus, tofu, veggies, falafel, etc. :D

sorry for the rant...i just hate watching people stuff them selves full of such harmful things.
good books to read:
food nation
skinny bitch (even guys)
naturally thin (the anti-diet book...very eye-opening even though she does eat meat)
slaughterhouse five
I love meat, and I feel like a meal is not complete without it. It may be bad, but I will never change!
I'm a vegetarian and have been all my life. My whole family is veggie and I've never been tempted to try meat, it just isn't very appealing.
