As a fellow 20sb, I thought you all would like the opportunity to know about Drop of Ink, a new zine that I'm starting.
The inaugural issue of Drop of Ink will be available in April 2010. To do this, we need submissions from you, the writing and blogging public. This quarter’s theme is aptly “Beginnings and Endings.”
What do we accept? Well, I guess the question should probably be what we don’t accept. Because we’ll accept just about anything, such as:
- Blog posts
- Essays
- Song lyrics
- Poetry
- Photography
- Visual art
- Journal Entries
- Potent e-mail conversations
- Short stories
- Written performance pieces
- Reflections
- Things written on napkins in the dead of night (and later translated to the digital form in one way or another)
- Musings
- Lists
- Letters, open or otherwise
- And so on… (use your imagination)
This issue’s deadline for submissions is March 1, 2010. All submissions should be sent by e-mail to dropofinkjournal@gmail.com. For non-visual art and non-photography, please either use the body of the e-mail or a Word document.
This is your chance to contribute to a growing movement. Submit now and submit often!

Sorry, I guess I'm just new to this. What exactly is a "zine?" And what "topics" are you looking for in blog posts? Sorry - these may be dumb questions - but I'm curious! :-)

a 'zine can mean many things, but in this case it's a magazine/journal that'll be distributed online to help people gain readership and publication credits. many zines have different themes, ideas, etc. there are fan zines as well, which follow a band or something like that. This is a bit different as it's mainly a writing/art zine.

We're really open to everything right now as it's the beginning and we're looking to gain contributors. Short stories obviously have to be reasonably short or able to be broken up into sections. But other than that, there's no holds barred. :)
