The Bloggers With The Most To Say

I don't know if I made it apparent in any of my posts or discussions on this here site, but I. LOVE. TO. EAT. Food makes me un-naturally happy and finding a good place (that's not a chain) around town that serves good food makes me even happier.

So, you amazing fellow bloggers out there, what are your favorite (non-chain*) local restaurants?

* by chains I mean national ones like Applebee's, T.G.I Friday's, Olive Garden, etc. Chains that are only found in certain parts of the country (such as the southeast, midwest, etc) are fine though.

There are a bunch of non-chain restaurants by me that are AMAZING.

1. Bruckner Bar & Grill. You wouldnt know it was around unless someone told you, and the food is great. Definitely better than your average bar food.

2. Mardi Gras - it's cajun food and it's out of this world. Voodoo chicken yummm.

3. 5 Burro Cafe. The most delicious mexican food ever, and it looks like a hole in the wall cantina - complete with aluminum siding on the walls! Their margaritas will also knock you off your feet, and they come with toys!!

4. and Da' Silvana restaurant. Awesome Italian food, very cozy, and we go there so much, they know my parents personally!! The BEST soft shell crab ever!
My favorite restaurants that I frequent here in charlotte are:

Cheddar's - a southeastern chain with good food and good prices.

Arpa Tapas - the wait staff there are amazingly accomadating! delicious sangria as well.

Penguin Drive-in - you can actually sit down inside although the music is a tad loud so don't expect much conversation unless you enjoy screaming.

Sushi 101 Japanese Restaurant - really good sushi at really good prices. also, great drink deals!
Penguin is sooooo good!

Have you ever been to Rock Bottom in Uptown (there's also one in Atlanta, I think)? It's SO good! And they have their own brewery, too, which makes it that much better.
In the fine city of Boston(and surronding areas):
La Verdad Taqueria//Ken Oringer's Tarqueria.....best Mexican food and magaritas...EVER

Kelly's Diner// Not to be confused with Kelly's Roast Beef. Favorite place to go with the paper on the weekends and I adore their french toast.

Myers & Chang// What chinese food should taste like!

Mooo//Snobby modern steak house, that's worth the bs!
Well, no one is gonna know any of mine as they are all in Glasgow but I love DiMaggios, La Vita and Paperinos (all local chain, Italian restaurants), Pancho Villas (a mexican restaurant in the Merchant City) and Balbirs (an Indian restaurant in the west end). Yum. Wish I wasn't on a diet, I'd hit them all.
If they had In & Out on the East Coast - I'd be soo much trouble....you need to branch out and try new places. haha
umm. i live in LA, so if were to list all the great local places to eat, i may as well write a travel book. but the last great place i went to was a cuban restaurant called Versailles. the decor is perfect for the mood and the waiters are sooooo great.
I KNOW THAT PLACE!! Amazing....just a little onion crazy. haha
I have to add my absolute favorite "NY-style" pizzeria here in charlotte: J.Pasta's there are a bajillion pizzerias down here that claim they serve "NY-style" pizza but they are ALL LIARS. J.Pasta's actually serves delicious, authentic "NY-syle" pizza with cheap prices.
In Chicago:
Pasta Palazzo
Zad (for falafel)

In Northampton, MA:
Fire Cuisine (I think that's it's name now; it used to be Cafe Casablanca)
Fresh Pasta

There are others, but that's what I'm craving right now
"Jules" is this swanky hotel, resturant and bar in Noord Holland. The place has every nook and cranny with different themes and colors, so you never sit in the same place when you return. The suites are cheap but each room is decorated like your in another country. Im going to write about it soon.
1. Supermac might be the best thing to happen to Midtown Manhattan. Any mac n' cheese fan would love this place.
2. Skewers in Dupont Circle is absolutely delicious. If you love Middle Eastern food and you're in DC - eat here.
3. Bodo's in Charlottesville has some of the best bagels I've ever eaten. Yum.
4. Ben's Chili Bowl on U Street is the best late night/early night/any night greasy food establishment in DC. If you're in DC - eat here too.
