My favorite thing?  The hipsters.  Definitely the hipsters.
Bahahaha so many hipsters

LOL it's definitely entertaining, isn't it.  I must have "I like hipster boys" inaccurately scribbled across my forehead too, because for some reason they're the main group of people who hit on me.

Hmm, a city crawling with young white people on expensive bikes pretending their stuff was cheep...OH! I almost forgot it was raining.

But hey---the Beer right? YEP, can't get that anywhere else, so I guess you got me there

Oh hey!  I'm from Portland!  And I love all of those things!

I also love the food carts, the record stores (even though they're slowly dwindling), and that silver statue guy that hangs out near Pioneer Square.  Oh, and Powell's Books!

Also...Stumptown.  :D

And...the rain!!!

Gah, I'm such a cliche Portlander...

haha yes. me too. except does the zoo count as portland? bc i love the zoo.
The zoo totally counts!  It's in Portland and MAX even runs there, so it deserves to be on the list.

The beer was my favorite part. Oh and the ginger ale at the Deschutes Brewery was amazing.

I'd have to say that my favorite part about Portland was that you can drive out of the city and be in the middle of a forest, hiking in less then an hour.

I love that ginger ale.

It's home and always has been. Even before the hipsters.  Listen up, y'all. There once was a time when Portland was a manly town. A town where lumber jacks actually lived, wearing the red and black check flannel for the same reason they wore a beard- to stay warm and avoid washing regularly.

Cheers to the Portland of yore!

You know...those guys are still around.  They're just hiding from all the tree-huggers.  ;)

I was born in Portland and grew up in and around it until college...since graduation I've lived in Montana, but I still miss my city. I miss:

- the beer, obviously.

- food carts.

- the Saturday market.

- all the used bookstores...Portland has so many great used bookstores as well as Powells (Longfellows is a favorite).

- McMenamins (which I guess is sort of like missing the beer)...my husband (Seattle native) and I love the food, drinks, atmosphere, concerts, etc. so much that we had our wedding at one of them.

- the clean air (not that I can complain now that I'm in Montana, but I sure did while I was in school in Michigan).

It's a beautiful city.
