What do I do?
My best friend and his girl friend are on a BREAK!
Firstly, what does that even mean? How can you be on a break when you're still obviously in love?
Secondly, for how long is this thing going to last? Is there nothing I can do to make this better?
J pinged me last night with this "We're on a break. It wasn't my decision, it was hers."
When I read this short sentence I was just so stunned that it took me a good 20 seconds to reply to him.
I've always looked at their relationship as the one that is meant to last. To me their like the perfect couple in every which way.
So, now that things are kinda falling apart here, its rather difficult to hold on to that thought.
Meanwhile, I need to help my best friend come out of this, I need to help his girlfriend with her Diploma movie and I need to find a job.
Life's a bitch!

Awweh that's a bummer...
it's always the worst when the couple are both people you are friends with, care for, etc.
I wish you luck. It's always strange to me when people have these... prototype relationships that they integrate into their own life and views - love is such an individualized thing, and i would be interested if anyone can honestly claim that individuals outside their relationship have a full understanding of it
my point is - try not to be too upset - there is no "perfect couple" but you can hold on to the thought that if they're not right for each other, this is actually a good thing, because they are one step closer to finding the people that are perfect for them :)

I hope you're right about them being a step closer to finding the right people. I've seen both of them through bad relationships, which is why I was really hopeful that they would last as a couple.
Well...at least they haven't called it off yet. So I'm still going to be a wishful-thinking optimist!
