The Bloggers With The Most To Say

It's like striking it rich; like finding gold. I'm talking about coming across a blog that stops you in your tracks. A blog that forces you to close all other open tabs/windows on your browser (or at least minimize them) and take in the words like you take in air. O...kay. I'm being melodramatic but really when I find someone's work that speaks to me it's kind of like a religious experience. It creates this crazy cocktail of envy, inspiration and motivation to write something just as good. I live for moments like that. They make me a better writer. And yay, I think ultimately a better person too.

What inspires you about other blogs? I'm all ears.

Amen! I agree, it is like taking in air. I find when I want to run out and tell everyone about the new blog I have found then its definitely a good one. I think when it makes me laugh out loud, or almost roll on the floor. That's when I know that I'll be back for more.

I really like it when they keep things short and leave a little mystery about their thoughts and emotions while still being funny and making you think. I think that's what makes me come back.
I like it when it's easy to digest. Regardless of whether the posts are small or large, the fact that they're easy to read (formatted well, with paragraphs or bullets, not center aligned unless it calls for it, no LOL speak) is the first thing that grabs me. Then it's theme and content--whether this blogger has an original voice.
well said kimbo, I think you said what I was trying to say.
I like when people are real. And don't have their blogs geared toward getting readers. I like the blogs that write for themselves, for the pure pleasure of getting thoughts out loud. I don't look at blogs for self help or advice on how to do one thing or another and the inspiration that comes from them doesn't come from being inspired to make or cook something but rather new ideas. I like prying into people's minds like that - makes them seem much more interesting to me.
Wow, and here I was on the verge of throwing in the blog-covered towel altogether.

Thanks for the impetus to keep moving.
I just said this on the 'things you hate about blogs' ( the reverse of it, anyway)..

But I agree with Angie - blogs that are real and write for themselves.

Furthermore, I'm really inspired ( and easily addicted to) the blogs that are totally and completely blunt, willing to put themselves out there, willing to embarrass themselves, etc. etc. I'm just sick to death of the ones so worried about getting readers that they hold everything 'risky' back, to the point where everything could be offensive to a reader so they just write fluff.

Basically I'm inspired by the blogs that go out on a limb.
I write like no one is reading, write for myself. And if people read, that's just a bonus!

So I suppose I like the same from other bloggers. I like bloggers who put passion in their words. People who are inspiring, intriguing, easy to relate to...and being brutally honest doesn't hurt either. Tell it like it is, not how you think someone wants to hear it. Be real, even if you're ugly inside. I respect that, admire that rawness.

And lastly, I like writers who can write circles around me. The kind that leave me in awe and in total envy of their writing talent. When they put pen to paper, they are almost poetic in nature, it flows naturally and effortlessly.
I love blogs that inspire me and show me things from a diff pov. Like that song 'Sunscreen' ;) i also love it when their writing is beautiful...
