We were stuck in a wal-mart parking lot on one of the hottest days of the year. We were in there for total of six hellish hours.
Finally, I decided to go into the store to buy some water. My sister and I go in, and I saw a lil old lady hobbling along, trying to get some cheese. I ended up helping her get like five different items (my sister was like bugging me the whole time to get the heck out of there, too...but I was like 'We lost both of our grandmas recently. It's nice to be able to be there for someone else's grandma!'" ....I'm glad I did it!
I try to do kind things for people whenever I have a chance. I don't want to go into details because I don't want for any type of credit or kudos for my actions, but I tend to give innocent compliments to random passersby on the street, tissues and notes of encouragement whenever I see a person (stranger or otherwise) crying, and I've spent more days then I care to count talking people through their problems.
In short, it's nice to help people and I wish I had the time and disposable income to do it more.

i always try to keep my eyes open for opportunities to do something nice for a stranger.
however, i think the nicest thing i've ever done for a stranger was for a cashier at target. i was buying flowers for someone, and she commented on how beautiful they were. it's been a while, but she made a comment about how much they brightened her mood on bad days, and she kept rambling about how today was a horrible day and got all teary eyed on me. i paid for my flowers, walked back to the flower station, went to a different cashier and bought the same exact bouquet. i took them to her, and i never saw her again. (i go into target, a lot!)
i like to think she quit her job, and is living her dream life.

Organized a collection drive that extended corporately (at my job) with outside offices for the victims of the Haiti earthquake, able to gather more then a pallets worth of non-perishable & in kind donations.
I was in the grocery store getting some Chinese food, and I ended off helping some old gent get his groceries. Spent about 45 minutes just walking around the store, getting things for him. Still the coolest old man I've ever met. I hope I'm like that.
