The Bloggers With The Most To Say

Hey everyone, I'm new to 20sb, and blogging in general. So, I wanted to get some insight on what makes a blog worth reading. What is it about the blogs that you read every day that keeps you coming back?

Thanks!
Sam

Thanks for the shout out, Tristan! You make me smile for miles.

I love when bloggers write from a perspective-- or about an experience-- that I don't hear much about. I stumbled across a really fascinating post from Nico of Nicopolitan today-- he writes about a former relationship from a really unique perspective.
I agree with Tristan. For me it's the quality of writing... not necessary just pictures or random phrases. I also enjoy good grammar and posts that make me think from a different perspective. Also, I enjoy posts that give ME something whether it's humor, places to shop, good deals, or just a good story. You can tell if someone really spent time on a post or it was something quick.
Content. I enjoy reading about people's lives; the good, the bad and the ugly. I want to see something real. I don't care about pictures or long/short entries, but I do care about grammar. If the post is too difficult to read because the grammar is shitty, I give up no matter what the content.
Thanks Tristan! I find that I enjoy blogs the most when I feel like I get a real sense of the person writing. I'll read anything, watch vlogs, comment on pictures, or do whatever if I like the blogger.
Good question. It actually made me go revisit my reader.

I guess what attracts me the most is a blogger that presents real life in an entertaining way. There are a million good reasons to right a blog, but personally, nothing is more entertaining than a humorous look at an everyday situation.

That's just a personal preference.
I couldn't agree more! Good writing ties into this... someone who puts thought into their writing can make taking our the garbage hilarious with the right spin on it. I enjoy day-to-day drama and happenings told with a bit of humour. :)
There are two kinds of blogs. There are blogs where you skip to the end of the post, and then there are blogs where the end of a post leaves you wanting more.
I enjoy blogs that take me on an adventure. A blog that makes me laugh. Someone's thoughts that makes me think. I enjoy blogs that doesn't tell me about what a person does but instead makes me wonder I could do to change my life.
"I enjoy blogs that doesn't tell me about what a person does but instead makes me wonder I could do to change my life."

Best way of putting that... ever.
I think with just about everything in this world, you follow and care for someone if they have charisma.

Many blogs are just run-of-the-mill blogs of 'what I did today', but that doesn't really drive you to care about the person, or see the world through their eyes. For that, the author has to stir some kind of empathy or sympathy; they have to drag you through their world, viewing it through their eyes.

Making other people see the world through your eyes is one of the cornerstones of leadership... and requires bucket loads of charisma to pull off!
To me, content is king! Although it's not about the quantity of posts, but rather the quality of posts.

I'm immediately sucked into a blog that is well written. People who possess a passion for writing and a unique writing style. Posts that are out of the ordinary, thought provoking, unusual, heavy/dark, light/fun, controversial, humorous, etc. I guess I want it all. Is that too much to ask for? I like variety.
I'm very addicted to reading Maxie's i hate so much -- I cannot leave that website without biting my lip to prevent laughing embarrassingly out loud in my office.
