I started my first blog years ago...around 2004...before 'blogging' was so mainstream. When I started there weren't many and I just thought it would be fun to do - I liked writing and thought it would be cool to start my own blog. Since then I've started a few other blogs that come and go - mostly when something new is happening in my life and I want to document and share.

I currently have two blogs - one about decor and apartment decorating, I started it when I moved into my first apartment early last year. BUT in the New Year I'm moving to India for a year to volunteer - so I have a new travel blog From India. With Love. Right now I share my thoughts, prep, feelings on moving abroad and once I arrive in India it will document my life while I'm there. I started this blog to stay in touch with family, friends and to share my experience with others travel lovers :)
I Love your blog and I cant wait till you get there!! its nice that you have made links to other peoples blogs too very good! keep up the good work xxx
I think 2 out of the 3 reasons I gave in my first ever blog post are pretty much the same as yours Luke. For the 3rd reason though its more unique to Northern Ireland:

"Living in a society that is still so strongly influenced by Religion, National Identity and a sense of ‘them and us’, as a humanist and agnostic I would like to record my experience whatever there is in store."

Over the course of the time between then and now, I think its much the same but with a growing sense of social commentary creeping into my posts. Hard not to really. Nice to have a place to vent though, just a lot of self editing when it comes to the hitting the publish button so as not to get sued. If you show up in google results above the organisations you comment about they undoubtedly come calling with an email.
Love your post!! Am reading the rest at the moment too!! Im subscribed!!
I'm self absorbed.
Same... and I was bored.
I had lot of journal type online things in high school, live journal/ dead journal and so forth. I started by blog in college, 2004 or so, back when you didn't need a reason to start a blog. I had no reason except the live journals were full of teenage angst drama stories and personal drama, none of which interested me any longer.
I started blogging first as a way of networking and connecting myself with others when I couldn't be near them, and second I hope to be discovered as a writer!
I started blogging originally in 2004 because a friend of mine urged our group of friends to do it. I had been keeping paper-back diaries for years and fell into habit easily. It was so much fun writing about our lives and being able to comment on each other's blogs. They all lost interest eventually but I still have a live journal (2 actually, both private). Now I've joined tumblr. I'm still new and trying to figure out how personal to get with it but it's a lot of fun. I've just been posting random things to it so far.

I started blogging a couple of years ago after being introduced to one of my sorority sister's blog. I loved what she was doing. Before that, I had heard of blogging but I wasn't that familiar with the concept. But, after that, I was hooked. I have been blogging ever since, with a couple of lapses during some life adjustments.

I love the concept of blogging, sharing your life with others, learning about life all over the world, sharing experiecnes that I would never be able to experience myself. I love the blogging world.
Love your blog! very nice!!! Now I want to go and see you again!! It looks soo good!! I think I would die if I saw some of those evil people at high school!!
It was both my therapy and a creative reaction to a messy, tragic, confusing break up... it's my hilarious attempt to get back on the dating horse!
