The Bloggers With The Most To Say

After a year (more for my boyfriend) of not having cable (or any) television, we're stepping into the 21st century with cable tv, complete with DVR and all that fancy stuff.
Problem is... we don't know what to watch.

We have a couple of shows that we keep up with online (see my most recent blog post for details) but we're looking for things people recommend that we can DVR and check out.

Care to share some of your favorite shows, on here or in comments on my blog (shameless, I know)?

The only show I've been watching as of late is House. I don't know whether that's a function of time (homework > TV, and this semester I have to timeshift it anyway) or not, but I haven't really been able to get into too many shows.
Grey's Anatomy and One Tree Hill rule my life. Sad, but true.
Let me go ahead and solve this dilemma by recommending some of my favorite shows...

Fox:
Monday

House MD
Arrogant Doctor, who is considered a legend in diagnosing & treating the rarest of diseases, deals with a new disease/patient every week while maintaining a twisted form of control over his life, his Vicodin addiction, his staff, and his boss.

Friday

Terminator:The Sarah Connor Chronicles
Sarah Connor and her son John Connor, the future leader of the human resistance against Skynet, strive to live a normal life with the constant threat of cyborgs known as Terminators, attempting to assassinate John Connor. A reprogrammed advanced Terminator unit was sent back from the future to aid in Sarah & John's survival. Every week they face the challenge of living a double life, and destroying advanced computer systems that may possibly evolve into Skynet one day.

A former FBI agent knows their secret, and is now working for a company reverse engineering Terminator tech. His Christian morals, and knowledge of the future threat from Skynet tell him to stop aiding the company's research, but his human curiosity carries him forward.

PS: If you didn't like the Terminator movies, then this probably isn't for you.

USA:

Thursdays

Burn Notice
Former US spy, Michael Weston, has been issued a "Burn Notice" and is now considered a potential threat by the US Government. His assets were frozen, his credentials revoked, and his unconscious body was dropped off in Miami. Weston now works as a sort of private investigator, aiding people with their troubles in ways only a former spy could. His friend, former Navy Seal, Sam and Weston's former Counter Terrorist girl friend Fionna both aid Micheal as he solves his clients cases, and works to unravel the mystery behind his burn notice.
haha hell to the yah i second Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicle. You (jess) should hulu.com or surfthechannel.com the 1st and 2nd season to prepare for the rest of the 2nd/3rd season. SOOO GOOOOOD
Mondays:
House
24
Heroes
The Big Bang Theory
How I Met Your Mother
(Thank god for DVR)

Tuesday:
Fringe

Wednesday:
Lie To Me (Brand New Show on Fox that is AWESOME)

Thursday:
Grey's Anatomy
Ugly Betty
Private Practice

Fridays:

The Starter Wife (I'm not sure if it's back on)

Wow.

I watch too much TV.
I haven't heard of the Big Bang Theory. What's it about?
I just started watching it...Here's the official synopsis:

Leonard and Sheldon are brilliant physicists, the kind of "beautiful minds" that understand how the universe works. But none of that genius helps them interact with people, especially women. All this begins to change when a free-spirited beauty named Penny moves in next door. Sheldon, Leonard's roommate, is quite content spending his nights playing Klingon Boggle with their socially dysfunctional friends, fellow CalTech scientists Wolowitz and Koothrappali. However, Leonard sees in Penny a whole new universe of possibilities... including love.

Sheldon is the BEST CHARACTER EVER! He's hilarious...and so friggin adorable. Watch the latest episode or clips from it on the ABC website and you'll understand.
also, i don't have cable (or basic channels), i watch my TV all online. on hulu.com or the broadcast websites or megavideo or whatever and i still watch the same shows as you do so maybe that makes me a sad loser. haha

OR WINNER at life!! :)
This is what we've been doing up til this point... but a combination of sucky cable internet service and an employee discount have swayed us...
Law & Order is fabulous, but I'm so unmovtivated to watch new episodes only becaue the show is constantly being aired with all the repeats and stuff on other networks.
Here are some shows I'd check out because...well...I like them: Lost (but you'd have to start at the beginning on this one), House, The Office, 30 Rock

Do you get any premium channels?
We get Showtime, I think, but no HBO.

We love the Office, and I've seen a few episodes of House (and liked them), so those are on the list, I think.
