What's the ideal age for marriage?
I know there are a ton of factors to consider before taking the big step. I'm sure that right now I'm not ready to be someone's wife, simply because I want to KNOW that I can be everything that my husband wants and am capable of raising a productive family.
But after being with my boyfriend for 3 years, it is constantly on my mind. So much that I break out in random marriage conversation for absolutely no reason. I went through this phase a few months ago where all I watched on tv was Platinum Weddings, Say Yes to the Dress, Bridezillas, wedding cake shows, Rich Bride Poor Bride... every show you could imagine. It made me happy to see other couples happy.
But why do people want to get married so young?

I was just about 24 when my college boyfriend and I got married. I had just finished my master's degree, he was working on his, and frankly, I've always been pretty mature and an old soul. But, as you notice here, I always like to use the number 24 (which I was 2 months away from being) instead of 23 because I feel like there is such a stigma with getting married young. Saying I was 24 legitimizes it just a little bit more for me.
On the other side of this conversation, IF we have kids (big if), it won't be before we're 32, 33. I've got another degree to earn, and as mature as we are, we are still pretty selfish and so ill-prepared to be parents.
I don't think there is a magic age. Like I said, I attach a stigma with people in their early 20s, even though I fall into that category. I think if someone is more focused on planning a wedding rather than a marriage, that might be an indication that you're just not ready.

I don't think there's any "right" age for marriage - one of my close friends married at 23 to a man who was 40 and I've never seen a happier couple - and i've seen couples who get married in their late 20s/early 30s who don't make it - it's really just a matter of what is right for the couple -
