What's up with the 20SB button on blogs?
Do you have to put this button on your website to be in some kind of index on this website? Or are bloggers just putting the buttons on their blogs for the heck of it?
I know some websites make it necessary to put their logo on your blog for it to be on their website at all. Wanted to know if it's the same deal here.

No you don't have to have the button to be "on the index" for the site. This is just a way for people to get back to your own 20SB profile, pretty much for shits and giggles.

Same here - one of the few blogs I originally followed had the button on their blog and I got curious and decided to come check it out and well, here I am!

On the reader's end of things, I've got hundreds of RSS subscriptions, so seeing the badge on someone's blog I've stumbled across makes it easy for me to put them in my 20SB folders in my reader. It also encourages me to subscribe because I know they're part of the same community.

I've got 20sb folders and groups almost everywhere... my reader, twitter, AIM/gchat, and facebook. I like seeing so much awesomeness in one place. Plus, out of all of my folders on my reader, the 20sb one is the one I'm most likely to read. In fact, at this point, it's the only folder I've been checking for the past month.

No it's not mandatory or anything, we never ask anyone to put our buttons all over the net. They do it for fun and to tell other 20sb members that they're from the same community. :)

The most standard one I found is at the top. Hover over "About 20SB" and Badges is the first option. You can search badges on the right to find more, with instructions on how to install them.

I saw the badge on a blog one day and subsequently e-wandered onto 20sb and am really glad I did. It's so cool (I think) that there's such a large community of bloggers in this age group being able to share and converse and all. We're such a weird generation, and the fact that there are so many of us documenting our experiences... well, my inner nerd thinks it's f--king beautiful.
And I've also found more than a handful of great blogs and great people here. I'm not big on "internet friends" or whatever, but I'd be sad and lost without some of the folks I've gotten to know on 20sb.
That's why I have the button on my blog now. In hopes of other people having a similar positive experience.
