The Bloggers With The Most To Say
When you blog, you never know what can happen...
Ok - not doing this to brag at all, more importantly I'm hoping to provide a little hope to anyone who has been blogging for awhile but hasn't quite got the following they want.
A few weeks ago I wrote a blog about my insomnia. I have written several posts on the subject - but this one just happened to catch the eye of an Op Ed editor at the New York Times. He's in charge of a section of the website called "All Nighters", which is devoted entirely to insomnia and the like...
So - now almost three weeks later, my post is now being featured on the New York Times website.
So needless to say this is the coolest thing that's ever happened to me.
I'm here to tell you that it can happen to you! You never know who is going to stumble upon your little corner of the internet! Keep blogging, keep writing, and the followers, the exposure, all of it will come with time.

That's the coolest thing, congratulations! I've been suffering from bouts of insomnia lately and it drives me crazy. I'll definitely check out your blog!

First off - congrats. That's awesome. An NYT post is major!
Second - agreed. My music blog (which is now a business...not listed in my profile though...) helped me attain my job that I'm at now. And by helped, I mean it's one of the main reasons I got my job in the media industry.

While I've never been published like that because of my blog, I did have one of my favorite authors seek me out after writing about her and offer to send me an autographed copy of one of her books. I was totally stoked!
It's amazing what blogging can do for you.
