i met him as a friend of one of my closest friends in 2002 briefly over a meal.

then 5 years later, that same close friend reconnected us as roommates. Roomed with him for almost a full year before starting to date him. (we no longer live together).
I met my husband in high school on the 1st day of school by the dorms. Nothing unusual unless you count being proposed to at the airport in the baggage claim area.
Most people are absolutely shocked that I met my boyfriend of 1 year online! We met using OKCupid.com, a free dating website. we love it! Obviously... Most people are surprised it actually worked! LOL
I met my now fiance online as well. We met on plentyoffish. we've been together for 2 years and 1 month =)
I met my boyfriend in high school...not unusual at all. haha.
Yup, so did I... Except he annoyed the hell outta me at the time. Now I can't get enough of him :]
I could write an entire book about how I met my significant other (but I'll spare you and keep it relatively short)! I met him when I still had a boyfriend. He was dressed as Johnny Cash at a New Years Party thrown by a guy who was my neighbor in the dorms in college. He was the drunk obnoxious guy at the party who passed out before midnight and puked in someone's bed. GROSS.

2 years later. I had just ended things with someone long-distance and in walks Dan (the same day!) at a birthday party for the same neighbor mentioned above. He told me he'd met me before but he wasn't drunk, dressed like Johnny Cash or obnoxious so I didn't recognize him. I admitted that I pretty much hated him two years ago and avoided him for the rest of the night.

2.5 years later we now live together and are happy as two larks in a...however that saying goes.

Just goes to show, don't judge a drunk by his costume.
lol that's so cute...it was meant to be =)
I met my husband in high school. Is that unusual? Every time we tell people we're "high school sweethearts" we get those annoying, "Oooohs" and "Awwwws" so that's gotta stand for something, right? (;
Met my husband at church a few weeks after turning 14 hah.. I really don't think high school sweethearts are as rare as people make them out ot be. I know many. Maybe it's just a southern thing?
I was in the world's worst mood, and had just sworn off men and was super bitter, when I was supposed to attend my good friend's fondue party. I showed up late, with barely any makeup, intending only to stay 20 minutes.

Instead, as I helped myself to some fondue, a guy approached me and asked why the fruit was turning brown if the hostess had just cut it. I explained that the fruit wasn't bad, it was the acidity, plus the oxygen. He said, "Oh good---you're cute AND smart." He introduced himself as Andrew and we talked for the next 5 hours. Turns out he's a science geek and wanted to see if I was remotely smart.

We had our first date 4 days later, and now, over two years later, we are living together and totally in love. In fact, I am typing this from his parents' living room right now---visiting them for the third time.

You just really never know, ya know?!
OHHH why does he immediately get so many brownie points for checking for intelligence? I could just high five him for that right now!
