Where Have The Good Men Gone? - Wall Street Journal Calls Out 20something Men

Don't know if any of you saw this in the Wall Street Journal today but I figured it was an interesting read for us 20somethings. It basically claims that 20something men have turned into little boys and women are sick of dealing with them.

There was also a similar article in the LA Times about how 20something men have turned into louts and the different theories behind it.

You're pulling Obama into a discussion about an article about 20somethings? Let's leave the politics out of this discussion...
Damn, I agree with you again Freeman. The older generations have a firm hold and they are not budging anytime soon. But what scares me the most is the constant perception I get that our generation is king of the whiners and queen of the pointing finger. There are tons of reasons why we, as 20-somethings, disagree with such and such, and don't approve of so-and-so, but not there is not of putting money where your mouth is. There are a limited few that stand up and move to make a difference in this world, but unfortunately from the very limited scope of the college life that I see, many would rather just blame someone else or call injustice on anything in life that doesn't go their way. Those people aren't digging us out, they are just adding dirt on top.
I didn't see your comment when I first posted mine but that is exactly how I feel/what I said! Those articles drive me crazyyyy.
Another thing about all this that grinds my gears is the idea that wanting jobs we actually enjoy is somehow a form of slackerism.  I don't know about the rest of you, but I sure don't want to spend the rest of my life working a crap job just so I can pay the bills.  I would feel much better if I was doing something I found meaningful and enjoyable, but apparently I'm not allowed to think this because it would be disgustingly selfish of me.
I just don't get how this is considered childish/selfish behaviour.  I always though this was what everyone wanted, at least to some degree.

Right on!  Let's continue sticking it to the man!  (no sarcasm intended)

While I am definitely not above man-bashing, I am SO OVER articles bashing 20-somethings! It seems that every major/minor newspaper/magazine has multiple pieces on how our generation is more entitled and so much slower to grow up than their generation. Yes, there is some truth to these articles, but I don't think it is always a bad thing.

I only skimmed the second article but my thoughts are: if you don't want to date a guy like that, DON'T date a guy like that! It seems to make a generalization that women are dating just to be in a relationship and are willing to settle. Obviously, I take offense to this.

I skimmed the article and I can see most of the points the author is making.  I probably should read the whole thing before I comment, but I got bored.  I think ladies, generally, tend to be more mature than guys.  Maybe if somebody had stepped up to the plate, I wouldn't have to keep calling them out.  http://leeleegirl4.wordpress.com/2011/02/21/you-probably-think-this...
