The Bloggers With The Most To Say

I feel like I'm the last person on earth to not be a Twitter-er. I'm kind of afraid to take the plunge because I've got enough of an internet addiction as it is. If I do, I will no doubt be sleeping with the mouse in my hand.

Anybody else out there who doesn't Twitter or does the cheese stand alone?

I signed up for Twitter a year ago and only started "getting" it, using it, and understanding how to use it a couple months ago. At first, I didn't understand what the point was or how it could be addicting like everyone was saying. Now I find it useful for connecting with people out there who may be potential clients, interested in my blog, or interested in guest blogging for my blog. I also have found many helpful links through other people's tweets.

I spent a lot of time learning about what benefits twitter could have for me before I really understood it and began to enjoy it. I read lots of articles and downloaded Tweet Deck, which I can't recommend highly enough. If I didn't use Tweet Deck, I don't think I would like Twitter as much as I do. I create columns in Tweet Deck, related to topics that I'm interested in, such as Life Coaching and Quarterlife Crisis. Tweet Deck automatically pulls anything that is tweeted on these topics and I see it right there in my column without having to go searching. Then I can respond to a person if I feel like reaching out or follow a link that sounds useful to me.
I don't. Personally-- I think it is super lame. LIke, I really don't care if you are pumping gas or changing your tampon. I'm just not going to do it, I don't care how cute the little bird is.
I've seen some of my pals do it. In conclusion, I don't give two hoots about the personal business of my friends and family! If I want to hear from them, I will give them a phone call, read their blog or send them an email. It's so stalkerish and such an impersonal way to keep in contact!

I wouldn't even detail the little parts of my day if I were to have a chat. What is so important about letting anyone know you turned your ipod on today, or you had a glass of water. Yeah, tell me something NEW.

So, no, I'll never get on with the twitter trends.
I'm not because I need more than 140 characters to describe my exploits.
I'm not, and have no plans to be.
I'm not on twitter. I'm not on myspace either. I'm on facebook, I'm here on 20 something bloggers, I have a blog, I'm on librarything, and a bunch of other sites. I don't see what twitter could offer me that all the other sites can't.
