The Bloggers With The Most To Say
Just read a really great article on Ed2010 on how blogging can give you some great writing experience but that people should not approach blogging with sky-high expectations... Apparently 20,000 people begin blogging each day... So today I am posing the question to the 20sb community: Why do you blog? For the experience? The hope of some greens? The love of the topic? Permalink Reply by Confessions on August 16, 2011 at 2:53pm I blog to learn more about myself. Too often life happens to us.
I prefer to make life happen. But I can only do that if I take the time to look at my surroundings, analyze, talk about, and learn from them. Sometimes having someone to listen isn't always available, so talking to everyone and no one at all can be very theraputic for me.

I'm not expecting to make money from it...I'm not that funny ha.

Another was because I needed a place to release, to document, and to figure out who I am without feeling silly. It grew into a place where I write about life, but more about lessons I'm learning or need to learn. I have enjoyed writing in it.
I wish it was a way for me to make friends with people from around the world, but it's still pretty small. And I'm not sure how to go about that I guess. But maybe soon.
Permalink Reply by Bri Poster on August 22, 2011 at 9:07pm I blog because it holds me accountable. When I talk about something on my blog, whether it's a dream or a goal or an aspiration, I have put it out there and there's an expectation to keep to my word. It also keeps me accountable in curating better, more diverse knowledge. I am a personal finance/fashion blogger hybrid and so I have to keep pushing the envelope and reading, learning and exploring in order to provide better and more up-to-date content.
I blog because it feels darn good. If you're expecting fame you probably will be disappointed (as so many of the 20k people who start each day discover) as there is so much chatter out there, so just have your own voice and you will be heard in the crowd by who needs to hear it (even if it's just a few people!)
Permalink Reply by Gia Swanson on August 22, 2011 at 10:05pm I blog to spill thoughts and feelings that I don't feel comfortable talking about with people in my life. I think it will help me process things and it will be good not to hold things in. Also, to hopefully connect with other people with the same lifestyle (childless 20 something waiting until 30s to have kids, newlywed, ...). I hope will improve my writing skills, but I'm not holding my breath. I feel like I've been using my blog as a way to kind of bookmark things I like.
