The Bloggers With The Most To Say

I guess its considered a pretty cliche question in this neck of the woods but I always adore hearing the answers... Why do you blog?

I'll go first: I blog because I love to get the wheels in peoples' heads turning and deliver a little dose of inspiration. I like to bring issues to the forefront and get people feeling motivated and passionate and fired up! It's really cool to be able to voice your views on a topic or idea that you are passionate about and to let it serve as a bridge to insightful dialogues. Blogging has helped me through so much in these past 6 months, which I never anticipated that it would. It has given me some great friendships, connections and has overall made me a happier and healthier person. So at the end of the day I blog because it fills me up in ways I never thought possible.

Best,

I love this question. I blog for many of the same reasons as you. I blog because it helps me understand and express myself. I blog because it helps me understand and connect with other people. It's given me an outlet and support system I never knew were possible. It's allowed me to put myself out there and overcome some of the doubts I've had about myself, as well as others. Overall, it's been such a great learning experience, and tool for connection that I can't imagine not doing it now.
I blog so that I can make friends around the world. ^_^
I write because I learned about the wage gender gap while in grad school (business) and want to see it closed in my lifetime --- did you know women make 77 cents for every dollar a man makes at the same exact job? Women are incredibly underrepresented at the highest levels of management, and I want that to change. I also lost a tremendous amount of weight, and found out that being thin does not equal happy automatically, or a healthy body image --- I want to see women's body image change - so that's why I write - the raise awareness, and try to make the world a smidgen better.

I also write at the Abortion Gang (http://AbortionGang.org) as part of reproductive justice activism --- I strongly believe that women are capable of autonomy over their own bodies, and I am proud to be part of an amazing group of young women who are speaking out against the antichoicers.
I honestly don't know anymore. I DO want to blog for the reasons you do, but I've lost my blogging sense of purpose! I started as a health/fitness blogger.. then made a blog no one knew about that addressed my issues with marriage and then joined 20sb and branched out to creative writing/poetry and heartfelt personal entries heavily inspired by break-ups... Now I have my own domain and I feel pretty limited with my current blog.. not sure why. Kind of want to take it in a different direction, but not sure how or what.. I don't like blogging without some purpose behind it. I want to be able to inspire readers or give something of value to people. I don't really feel I do that now.
I have no idea why I blog. I started because I was working on a book for a while but kept getting lost. And now I just kind of do it. I guess it's mostly for the same reason that little girls keep diaries? I don't know. And it might have something to do with documenting my existence? I have been recording music for years and years, but I sorta can't right now. So ranting on the internet is second-best, I suppose. Also, I think I just want to get better at writing in general, so somebody will give me some money for it someday. Because I don't like jobs. Getting drunk and writing all day would suit me better.
I started blogging to share my passion and get better at writing. Now, I do it with more structure and incorporate my business into it as part of my portfolio.

I started blogging not to long ago. Got the idea from a friend because I am always told that I should teach. I am a makeup artist and skin care expert and I have all this knowledge but I really didn't know what to do with it. I have always read others blogs and I thought to myself why not start my own blog. and VOILA! I did.

Hope you guys can check it out!

-It's theraputic.
-It's a form of expression both creatively and practically, which as an artist is important to me.
-I like meeting new people and I like reading other points of view.
-I like attention. :-p
I blog to vent and to get my crap out. I'm good at talking about my emotions, but I'm not very coherent when doing so. Also I feel that I am more courageous when writing on blog and will write about things I am not brave enough to say in person. I also blog so that people can access another side of me that is very often hidden from public view. In short, my blog is my sanctuary.
I blog because it is so therapeutic to write things out in an open forum. I learn things about myself and the world when I write them down. I blog because I love the feedback I get from others and I love that they are absolutely and completely unbiased in giving their advice. I blog because it helps me understand things in a different way.
I've always wanted to be a writer, ever since I was little.
