fuck it, its been almost a year...might as well say exactly why i started my blog.
i was going through a reaalllly harsh breakup (the kind that catches you completely by surprise, in a 5 year relationship...it sucked) so I had a lot going on in my head. my professional life took a shitty turn, and there was an illness in my family. I needed a valve to empty the useless shit that I think about all day long.
my gf had been that valve for so long that I didn't know what to do, so I started blogging to fill that void. I never brought any of the serious stuff over to the blog, because that wasn't what it was for. My blog has always (attempted) to be about useless things i think about, and it grew from there. but that's why it started.
its not quite the same thing anymore, mostly cause i'm in a much better place, but i guess thats the answer

this is similar to me. i started my current blog about a year ago to figure out my thoughts on marriage anxieties.. just to vent and hopefully work out some relationship problems.. BUT i didn't start to really pick up my writing (and wanting to reach an audience) until last month, in the thick of trying to cope with a 5 year relationship break up. it sucked.. sucks. whatever. but i'm writing my way through!

My blog is my journal without my often messy handwriting. I type faster than I write and the idea that someone (and my regular readers for sure) will see it, is like telling a secret I'm not supposed to tell without any of the repurcussions. Who cares is someone halfway around the world hears any of this? I don't but I also do; it's helped me talk without actually having to go through those awkward moments.

I have a customer service job so my options are to punch someone in the face or to blog. I actually decided to do it after I was on the phone with a customer's angry fiance and I had already explained that he had called the wrong location, if he wanted his problem resolved he had to call the location where his fiance had registered because I couldn't fix it, blah blah blah, and I was going to have a manager call him back when he just blurted out "You know what?! Forget it! I'm going to tell my friends that your company (Ha, I wish it were my company!) has a terrible privacy policy, and maybe I'll write about it in my blog!" Then he hung up. I literally went "Bwah?!" Because, I mean, I'd heard a lot of threats before but never "I'm gonna blog about you, beeyotch!" and to be perfectly honest I spent a lot of time kind of making fun of that guy, but then I got it. It's an outlet. And I've found it to be a perfect outlet for ranting about the stuff that makes me just kind of sadly shake my head and stare in amusement. So thanks for that, Crazy Fiance!

I blog because deep down, I want people to read and identify with what I write. When I was a kid I was all about actual journals because I was all about keeping everything in my life private. Now I'm much more comfortable with the things I think and feel, and I like to put it out there.
