How exactly does this make you feel?
"We turn to food when we are not hungry because we are hungry for something we cannot name. A connection to what is beyond the concerns of daily life, something sacred. But replacing the hunger for a divine connection with Double Stuff Oreos is like giving a glass of sand to a person who's dying of thirst."
I find it funny that at this point and time I am now almost on the 4th chapter of the Biography of Oprah by Kitty K. That I ran across this on AOL.com.
Oprah's Epiphany: 'I'm Never Dieting Again'
I remember growing up and everyone was watching Oprah all over the world, I used to watch her everyday for a while in high school with my step-mom and then I feel off the map. I think it was because she was always so secretive. I never wanted to be like Oprah or meet her nor did I envy her but I did want to visit her during Christmas to get all the goodies =). But somehow when I walked past the biography in the NEX I couldn't leave without having it. Even though I'm not exactly sure how much of the book is true its nice to finally learn something about the women behind the screen. And so far I have learned A LOT. So when this posted on AOL.com I had to click it and it made me sad, because I just read some horrible things about her past only a few hours prior and I finally understand. So I posted the Oreo quote for everyone to read. I do not personally have the yo-yo issue but I do have friends that diet and stop and are always trying something new. So I figured maybe someone else could experience that ah-ha moment that I did.
I love you all dieting or not, just remember what the big picture is and what you really fighting for.
