Hey all...
So, I started blogging when I was fifteen years old... here's a bit of the fifteen year old me:
People are so damn selfish in this world.. People go out and buy a webcam, a new CD, a computer, a picture frame, a camera, hell a vase, plates, cups, tea kettles... THINGS WE CAN LIVE WITHOUT WHILE PEOPLE CAN'T AFFORD TO BUY FOOD.
It sparked a whole lot of stuff in my life and seriously shaped my life. When I was about seventeen, I started a non-profit called
Student Reach International (up in Canada for those of under the border)... All focussed on how youth can change the world. Long story short, it's been going super amazing and in these last couple years, I've gotten to travel to some phenomenal places (Uganda, Tanzania, Lesotho, South Africa) and I'm writing a book now called "Finding hope in a scary world."
So, I was wondering if any of you out there ever tried your blogging skills in a book? How did it go? What tips might you have to offer? My blog has always been random so it's a bit different trying to do something structured but I think it'll be even more rewarding if I can pull it off. I've taken time off school and have an awesome editor who has known me for years...
Advice from fellow twenty-something writers is much appreciated.
The book in a sentence: The story of a kid who hated the world, to a kid who hates the world a little less.
