The Bloggers With The Most To Say

Do you have a personal mission statement? If you did, what would it be?

If you could come up with a concise phrase to sum up what you want to get out of life, or what you want your life to count for, what would it be?

I have a friend who's personal mission statement is "live, love and make a difference." If you asked her, she'd say that she's got a long way to go to fulfilling that (although I would say she's already doing amazingly) but every day she strives to live a life that reflects that statement.

I know some people who would simply say that their mission statement is to "have fun." (An admirable endeavour!)

Another friend (who is far less concise) says that her's would have something about being a great wife and friend, and helping everyone she comes in contact with to be the best person they can be.

Personally, I'm not so ambitious. If I had to write a mission statement for my life, it would talk about every person who comes into contact with me feeling happier about who they are, and having more of a sense of their own self-worth. I hope that everyone I talk to comes to a greater understanding of how amazing they really are. I certainly have a long way to go, but I'm happy to keep intentionally trying to be that person.

What about you? What do you want your life to count for? What legacy do you want to leave?

NOTE: if you're not familiar with the concept of a mission statement, wiki to the rescue!!  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mission_statement

RIGHT ON. Girls always avoid lifting because they don't want to bulk up. ummmm that's not going to happen, we aren't even built to bulk up. Lifting is the key to success!
I like to lift some weights and I just do it to tone up, but I totally agree with you! It's a great plan!

For ages my unspoken one was "not look like an idiot." Harder than you'd imagine..
Let it hang all out?
Let it hang all out.
All of them.
Out.
To continually choose love over fear, resulting in inner-peace.
To the leave the world a better place than it was before I came in.

I'm not so much cut out for a legacy, I don't think. I am ambitious though. Heh. ;)
Risha, it's always been individuals who have left the greatest legacy, and changed the course of history. Historically speaking, I think your chances are pretty good.

To make a positive difference in people's lives (and the environment) throughout my life.

Great thread, it's inspiring to read what others have to say (and I love yours) :-)
To do as much as I can to make a positive difference in the world and to serve others, to remember that staying true to yourself is more important than popularity, and to live with honesty, optimism and integrity.
I like it. The best goals are specific.
