The Bloggers With The Most To Say

There are a lot of websites geared towards activists, like Idealist, MoveOn, etc. which make it easy for people to be online activists. There are also meet-ups, non-profits and other groups that allow people to volunteer their time and resources.

Which do you prefer?

My absolute favorite website is Change.org. There are groups for "changes" (everything from end the war in Iraq to empower women to end world poverty) as well as for specific non-profits. You can raise money, send letters, sign petitions, find out about events, etc.

For offline activism, I work at a non-profit and volunteer at another. It's enough to keep me busy for now, but I've also done other volunteer projects.

I volunteer my time all over the place - from solidarity movements with labour unions, to cooperative/community efforts, to non-violent blockades, etc. with some "tougher" organizations.

I don't really use a lot of websites for activists, I use my blog for most opinions I have - and to bring attention to issues and campaigns I care about. I like the "real life" activism a little more than the online ones.
I am still pretty new to online activism. I have profiles on TakingITGlobal and change.org for networking, but I still still figuring the ins and outs. I am also an online volunteer for an organization called Africa Aid.

I have been an offline activist for years. Right now I am volunteering at a community health clinic for people living with HIV in Argentina. I blog about my experiences as well as my opinions on social change, especially in public health.
A little bit of column A, a little bit of column B.

As a social media strategist that also happens to be a shameless idealist, I'm always interested in exploring the different ways that people are using the tools to make change.

I also volunteer whenever possible. I used to work for Free The Children in PR which was definitely an incredible experience.
