The Bloggers With The Most To Say

Okay, so basically

1. Do we want to have post-specific awards or only awards for entire blogs?

2. I think its best to present people 5 blogs for each category that they can vote on... but how do we narrow down to those 5? Should it be open nominations? Should it be "fill out this form and email to lisa" or should we use some polls...

3. do you think people are going to be all about transparency or if I just handle this through my email will people trust me?

4. how many/ which categories?

My choice for categories right now:

- Little blog most likely to succeed (Technorati under 50)
- Mid sized blog most likely to keep rocking (Technorati under 150)
- Big blog that most deserves its popularity (Technorati 150+)

- Best blog by a parent
- Best blog by a student
- Best hobby blog
-Funniest Personal Blog
-Funniest Humor Blog
-Most Sincere Author
- Best photography blog

-Best Design
-Best Blog Description
-Best Blog Title

And, specific post awards
- Best Rant
- Best post about blogging
- Best one sentence post
- Biggest laugh out loud post
- The "heart on sleeve" award (when people share something personal)
- Most uplifting post
Might be easier to have awards for entire blogs only, but including post-specific's cool too.

We could have polls to narrow it down to the top five finalists for each category. And then do the voting.

I think people will trust you but if we can make it live voting, that'd be fun. Of course I have no idea what it takes to make a live voting happen, so feel free to ignore that thought if it's hard.

The categories are great. :)
