The Bloggers With The Most To Say

I'm having a lot of trouble getting followers despite being anonymous. Does anyone else struggle with that? Do you have any suggestions?

Wow, too bad there hasn't been any follow up to this yet. I definitely know what you mean about the struggle to get followers. I don't spend too much time worrying about it, but I do try to be active in blogging communities (like this one!). I've had some really decent traffic on quality content, which is an incentive to keep up good, consistent work. Good luck!

I completely know where you're coming from!  Maybe if I wasn't anonymous I'd have some starter followers that would bring more people in, but I like being anonymous.

Others have suggested I just stay really active here and make sure to comment on other people's blogs, which might draw their attention to mine.

Still hard to get followers, and it can be SO disheartening! But I remember that a few good followers is better than a ton who don't actually read my blog.

i agree.  while i could totally link my page to something i already have established that is not anonymous it would defeat the purpose!!  while i too would like some action in the followers section of my blog, i am content with just being able to get my stuff out.

i also find irony in the fact that we call them "followers"  i am a true proponent of typically telling people not to follow-- especially me!!  cause i will led you astray...    so perhaps it is good no one is following!!

I am having the same problem. It'd be a lot easier if I could just plaster my blog link all over my personal Facebook page or something but ... I can't. I don't have any fantastic advice but I look forward to reading the advice of others. I do know that if you stay active within forums, groups, etc. that it helps drive traffic and you might get a few followers from that.

I am new to blogging but decided to do it anonymously because I enjoy the freedom.  I don't know what I will want to blog about and, more importantly, if i want to mention my friends then i don't think they would appreciate people knowing certain things about them!

I'm finding it difficult to attract readers, but hope that is not due to my content........

I get paranoid about my content too, but at the end of the day, i blog for me, and when I really feel depressed about stuff then I look at my traffic flow.

I like being anonymous though, so then I can bitch about my school and no one would know.

Network, network, network! On the days you don't write or post take some time to read other blogs in your genre and leave comments... a lot of bloggers thrive on comments- I know I do! - and will check yours out in return. Twitter is also a great spot to 'meet' other bloggers, anonymous or not! I've found a ton of great blogs that I now regularly read doing this, and I've found a few readers along the way too =) good luck all!
Thanks for the great tip. I guess I'll have to work up the nerve to 'meet' others on Twitter--I'm not very good at that at the moment.

I'm totally with you here. I chose to be anonymous because I too don't want other people to take things I write the wrong way, and because I want to be able to say what I need to without worrying about backlash.

I just got my first two followers (which caused me to jump up and down for quite a while, clapping my hands), but I've been blogging for a couple months now.... so it really took a while for me to have followers. I'm just focusing on commenting on others' writing and making sure my content is interesting and honest.

That's the best way to get followers- read other's blogs and follow them and hope they do the same back. And write your best and honest work. Be true to yourself and it will show. I'm going to go check out your blog right now!
I totally agree. If I had it on my facebook or something I would totally have more readers! And sometimes it's tempting to take the easy way out but I know that I cherish my anonymity so I will never do that.
i'm a new anonymous blogger and am trying to find not so in-your-face ways to get people to follow/read me. i use wordpress and find new blogs to read/comment on by using the tag surfer. then i hope that they'll read me back!
