The Bloggers With The Most To Say

I should preface this post by saying I don't have any neighbors on either side of me, just above & below me.

Ever since I moved in I hear really loud THUDS coming from upstairs. Sometimes these SHAKE the building.

I thought make they were lifting weights and dropped them? Or slamming doors?! I don't even know but it happens a LOT and it kind of scares me. I have a moderate amount of faith that the ceiling isn't going to collapse because it's a brand new building, but it's still scary nonetheless.

WHen I've had friends over, they freak out ("What the )(#@$ was that?!") I'm really curious what the hell is going on up there and would hope that whatever it is could cease but I don't know how to ask them what the hell is causing those loud thuds.

I am also scared that if I were to go up and introduce myself to ask them nicely what was going on that they are going to open the door and end up being like 300 lbs or something.

Any ideas? Should I just deal with it until they move out?

hi, i'm loving this group already I'm glad it was made. I have the same problem. My problem is 3 ways. I have noisy neighbors on both sides [right and left And very noisy neighbors above me. It all started when the first one moved in. the one to my left. I was ok with it because the whole moving thing putting up frames, moving things around the works. Until it began an everyday thing for a month. Banging and hammering at 7am. I don't think so. I went over and said Hi. Please Stop. Its too early for that. [had a bad night, took it out on them] but still they should have the decency of not hammering that early. the people to the right are constantly putting there radio blasted early in the morning. and banging on the walls. I don't know whats going on there but the people above have Some mental problems from what i was told and they move furniture everyday. lol. Point is, Talk to the building manager and if nothing is done after a while you must inform the police. only if it gets too crazy. I had to do this to people on the left once already and ever since then... SILENCE!!! Put your foot down. If talking to them doesn't work take actions in your own hands. Hope this helps!
If you are not comfortable talking to your neighbor I'd recommend talking to property manager. Is there a reason you want to go directly to them?

Hahah I know people haven't replied in this thread for a while but I thought I would still share. The people in the apartment next door sometimes make very loud disruptive banging noises, at annoying times like 11pm. I thought the guy was hammering stuff (since I've seen him doing lots of work like that in his garage). My husband however thinks it's not exactly hammering, and perhaps more bedroom noises. Awkward.
