The Bloggers With The Most To Say

Hey gang ... I have a few questions for ya

Q1: Did you checkout review sites before you decided where to move ... did these sites influence your decision?
Q2: Have you ever reviewed your apartment complex on an apartment rating or other review site?
Q3: If you were to write a review on these sites, good or bad, would you want your apartment complex to respond?
Q4: If you like where you live ... have you considered writing a positive review? Or do you think people mostly think to post "reviews" when they are unhappy.

Anything else you have to contribute about online reviews in relations to apartments?

I never read an apartment review. I don't know where to find them. I'd write a positive review if I had a good experience with an apartment. I want to complain about my old one though also!
there are several review sites - http://www.apartmentratings.com/ this one is the most popular if you want to review your previous one.
i normally will read apartment ratings but i don't use it as part of my decision making. there are a lot of great places on apartment ratings that get bad reviews but are actually really nice with good management. i feel that people who have something to complain about will do it on apartmentratings.com but people who like their apt complexes barely do anything unless specifically asked about it.

I use livejournal a lot, I'm part of my city's livejournal community and they have a lot of reviews and recommendations on there. Yelp is also a somewhat decent tool. this was the first time i lived in an apt (usually lived in a house) so i went on google, apartment ratings, yelp and livejournal to see..this is a fairly new complex (2 years) so it was hard to find anything on it.

i'm probably going to post a review sometime in the next 3 months (i've only lived here for 2) about my apt. and if my apt. responded i'd be happy because it meant they actually were reading what people are saying.
I haven't seen livejournal ratings before - I've heard of Yelp and Apt Rating of course. I will have to check into that.
(Q1) My current apartment was a brand new property when I moved in, so I didn't check apartment reviews for this one, but I have used it in the past. They did influence my decisions - both good and bad. I liked that it gave me a sort of 'heads up' for things to watch out for.

(Q2) Yes - I've reviewed all of the past apartments I've lived in

(Q3) I am sort of indifferent.

(Q4) I absolutely do give good reviews where I've lived before if they deserve it. Generally speaking, people are more likely to talk about bad experiences than good ones though.
