The Bloggers With The Most To Say

I'm looking into purchasing some beauty books - I wanna get into makeup (specifically eye makeup, i guess) more than I am at the moment. Do any of you have some faves you can recommend?

I don't buy makeup/beauty books. You can find great tips in your monthly magazines that work great, and recommend great makeup. Usually the books you will find, for example Bobbi Brown's will (naturally) feature only Bobbi Brown makeup..
Actually my mother has Bobbi Brown's book, can't remember which one it is, and although the photographs are all her products she never comes out and is like "get the Long Wear Gel Liner from my line" or anything, just says what to look for.

Also, I found a book last weekend on eye makeup techniques (well, there were other sections too but the eye one was the largest) which was pretty good, but kinda pricey for what it was! (Forget the name now, dammit.)
I bought the book I was talking about in the post above this reply - it's called Makeup: The Ultimate Guide, by Rae Morris, an Australian makeup artist. I totally totally love it!

It has great step by step instructions (with pictures every step of the way!) for eye makeup, and great ideas (that are probably a little too crazy in real life, but you can tone it down yourself). It also has chapters on foundation, contouring, blush, brushes, and the 'essential makeup kit', as well as a chart of eyeshadows suitable to your eye colour.

I highly recommend it - it's not available on the US amazon site, but here's the link to the UK one (which for some reason says it'll be released in June...so weird!!!): Makeup: The Ultimate Guide
Eye Candy by Linda Mason is really cool!! I also like the classics by Kevin Aucoin!!
OoOo, I have that on my wishlist! Will definitely check it out next time (the Eye Candy book - I don't really like the Kevin Aucoin books, not sure why...I just don't get the right 'vibe' from them. I'm weird, I know. haha)
I love KA but I know looking at the makeover on the real people, the looks are so dated. That threw mw off a bit. But I mostly love it for the tips/application
Have you checked out KristopherDukes.com? She always posts what all of the beauty blogs are talking about and links to them. Plus a few fashion posts mixed in too. She's pretty funny.

Yeah I also like The Ultimate Guide. I heard that it's used as a text book in some makeup schools ???

Really good book and my personal fave.

I absolutely love Making Faces by Kevyn Aucoin. It was honestly my textbook/manual when I started freelancing.
I just got a book this weekend from Borders, Make-up Masterclasses by Jemma Kidd. I like it so far, but you should really check out youtube for makeup tutorials.
