I just got this note from the Chicago Tribune: The Chicago Tribune is hosting an event on Aug. 8^th with Sapphire, author of the novel “Push.”  She will be in town to promote her new book “The Kid” and will be interviewed by our literary editor Elizabeth Taylor. The discussion will be followed by a book signing and a reception with food and drinks. Tickets at http://tribsapphire.eventbrite.com

Hi All - I've been getting a few requests each month about joining this book club. I moved to Michigan in January, so I'm no longer running it. Is anyone else interested in taking over and running things?

"We are currently working on a piece about our favorite books of 2010 and we want to invite your book club to be a part of it. If you would like to, we need you to identify two of the best books that were published in 2010 and write two sentences about why you liked said books."

An update for May book club - since we missed a few months, we'll be reading "Her Fearful Symmetry by Audrey Niffenegger. Plan to get together on Wednesday, May 26 (location TBD).
