So un-romantic when...

Do any of you have a friend who just met a guy like 6 months ago or a year ago and then they are already moaning about when will he pop the question and you're totally rolling your eyes and then next thing you know a month later or so- you get THE call. "I'M ENGAGED!!!" and even worse: "Will you be my bridesmaid/maid of honor?!?"

It makes me want to puke. Not for them but for me. It makes me want to kick my lug of a sweetheart boyfriend in the head and (without pressuring him of course) yell. It's so romantic for that friend of mine because he swept her off her feet because he couldn't wait any longer to make her "his" and take her off the market so to speak. But then I look at my man who's sitting over there watching tv with our dog in his lap, scratching himself in random locations and watching yet another running of "NEVER BACK DOWN" the movie, and I'm thinking, "Why can't you be that romantic?"

I know, I know, some guys- many many guys- just need time. I get that I really do. I used to be one of those chicks who needed time. But when you find the right person who says you should wait? I would never have said yes to any of my old bf's because I would not have been ready. But this one- he's the one and I've known for almost the whole 6 years we've been together. Now if only he would do something about other than occasionally discuss the future. (I guess that's a good sign).

Enough ranting and back to the subject. Do you have friends who have been in that situation and do you agree with me that it's soo romantic to be proposed to early? Forget the whole- it won't last part- well I guess we can't forget that part because it may or may not be true- but you know what I mean, right?
