I like heading to some downtown spots: Recessions is a dirt cheap deal and you can't go wrong with Lucky Bar as well.

Mackey's on L and 18th is pretty classic for a downtown spot, but i like both Bourbon's (Ad Mo and Glover Park) as well as Bread Soda in Glover Park, and Marvin's on U Street. ok i could ramble forever ;)
