Suddenly the kitschy decorations come out. The old rubbed-off-velvet santa. The reindeer with broom straw for antlers. The janky construction paper ornament with a picture of you as a kid that the 1st grade teacher took with the quality of a Polaroid camera. Cookies that could only be described as 'inspired by' Martha Stewart. In reality you spend the evening explaining how they're flat because you shouldn't have substituted margarine for butter.
No one complains about any of the tacky though. We hang it all proudly.
And as designers & crafters we look forward to the free range on creative channels!
Long live the holidays!
What projects have you a-cookin'?
are they mini scrapbooks about stuff you and them have done together? Or are you sort of starting a book for them and giving it to them to fill the rest out?
