No, your eyes aren't playing tricks on you... it's true, a guy did join this group.
My wife and I just tied the knot on August 8th, 2009. It was an amazing experience! We're a Jewish couple, and she knit our chuppah as well as a shawl go go with her dress. The chuppah was beyond beautiful and the shawl had over 3,600 beads knit into it.
If anybody here is in the process of planning their big day, and wants a guy's opinion about this, that, and the other, I'm happy to lend a hand. I can tell you, having something handmade as part of your ceremony makes it so much more meaningful!
Congratulations! WOW, your wife sounds like she has some serious skeeeeeelz dude. Can we get some pictures of these lovely creations? Did you guys DIY anything else (with what time, right? I bet making a chuppah and hand beading a shawl takes forever).
Thanks so much for sharing!
As far as getting the groom involved... My fiance is so busy that he is just in charge of the music list and our pre-marital counseling arrangements. We do most of our other appointments together (catering, cake, floral, etc) but all of the details are up to yours truly. Did you have specific jobs or did you guys do everything together?
Well, we did have specific jobs... I'm terrible at planning just about everything so my main job was to stay out of the way and help out whenever she, my mom and her mom, needed help.
I would also be asked certain questions that had no right answer. Example: "Which table clothes do you like? These [off white ones] or [these slightly more yellow off white ones]?" Fun fact: Picking either color or saying, "I don't care, whatever you want is fine," were not appropriate answers to that question.
She's a huge decorator and organizer, so she's always doing something crafty like that. We're away right now, looking into buying a house, but as soon as we get back, I'll ask her to lay out a number of her projects to show off. I posted this recently, it has one of her recently completed projects: http://bit.ly/3vGcmb
I'll start reading your blog too. Looking forward to seeing your creations!
Keep in touch :)

I think my fiance would say that "no answer is the right answer" is his problem too.
PS: your dog is adorable, especially with a cute knit hat on.
