The Bloggers With The Most To Say

Lately I've had a hard time summing up the oomph to blog and I feel as though some of my posts have been rather lackluster.  Do you still write even when you're "not feeling it"?  Or how do you find the motivation to put words to screen?

Or do you just draw ridiculous pictures of judgmental ice cream cones instead, like me?

personally, i blog when i feel inspired~
That's excellent advice, Jaleesa!  I started writing to keep practicing my craft and to also have an outlet for creativity, but after a year of blogging I'd be lying if I said I didn't feel some sense of obligation to post regardless of inspiration...  Sigh.
I try to blog every few days at least, so if after a few days I'm still uninspired I do my best to drag something out anyway.  I browse the newspapers online or read other blogs and try and find something to write about.  Even if it's not one of your best posts, it's always good to keep things going, if you wait too long you'll end up forgetting all about it and your readers might forget too.

I'll post random pictures that I found online, usually describing how I feel, where I wish I was, or what I was doing. Or use creative writing prompts, those are great. Pick a question and write about it with 300 words or more. It's also a great way to expand your writing skills.

I try to! But some days I'm just not feeling it...
Sometimes I do. And then those are the posts I look back on and go 'that was a bit rubbish'. So I try not to. But it happens, because I don't like leaving more than, say, a week between posts. It just doesn't look good if someone new stumbles across your blog.

Yes.  Because I'm struggling to write but I need it like I need to eat.  So I eat when I'm not hungry, I blog when I'm not inspired, because I need to, and it benefits me in the long run.

I've been having the same issue!!! I try to come up with something, but it's most definitely not my best work... I've gotten in a few decent posts this week, but I've been stalling out for a month or so... I even lost a couple of readers. I've been struggling to get back into it :/ I'm struggling with that "sense of obligation" to post... I hate not posting anything, but aren't crap posts just as bad as no post at all?
I try to blog every day. I occasionally look back on some of my posts and think "wow. that's crap." But it's how I was feeling and what I was thinking in that moment, so those were my thoughts at the time. I read other peoples blogs not necessarily for the quality, but for the "real life" aspect. Not everyone has perfect days, every day. So yeah, some posts are going to be better than others, but that's real life. Some days are going to be better than others. Some days you are inspired, some days you aren't. I think it's cool to be able to read through posts and see the pattern of peoples inspiration.

I think exactly the same thing! I think even the days you don't feel inspired, ARE inspiring, in their own ways. If you write how you feel then that's still coming from within.

I started blogging to expand and improve my writing while giving me some sort of a creative outlet, however I find that I need to be inspired to really sit down and hit the keys.  I think as a craft its something that is about 50% inspiration and another 50% consistency and diligence.

I tend to blog every week day while I am at work. It helps me get out all the random thoughts I have during the day that I can't really talk to anyone about. I ALWAYS have random thoughts at work (possible ADD?).

I blog for me. If others stumble upon my stuff, enjoy it and decide to follow then I get excited, but I don't think about "hmm...what would other people like to read today?" or "wow I probably shouldn't post this because it's super lame."

Take it or leave it is what I say.
