The Bloggers With The Most To Say

I'm currently not working and dropped my gym membership to save money.  I still want/need to stay active, but I get bored with workouts easily, so I like variety.  Does anyone have suggestions on what I can do or what you've done to workout when not at the gym?  Whether it be simply running outside, buying exercise tools and videos, etc...  Thanks! :)

I've been using the P90X dvds and they are insanely awesome. (http://www.Beachbody.com/P90X)

BUT they're also insanely expensive- like $120, plus yoga mat and weights (or resistance bands).

So, if I hadn't jumped on the bandwagon with the BF, I'd probably be doing The Shred. In fact, I might switch to that when we finish P90X. We'll see!
What is the Shred? Do tell?
30 Day Shred. It's an awesome workout.
i LOVE the turbo jam videos. chalene is too hilarious not to love. she also works with beachbody, but i got my set of discs on ebay. if you go the ebay route be careful. some people are selling bootleg copies, and the discs may not run properly.

i also really like the wii games. if i don't feel like wii fit, i'll pop in wii sports resort. it's addictive, and i always break a sweat :) i just got wii active. i've heard good things about it so i'm pretty excited to get it set up
Ooooo, Wii boxing is a HELLUVA workout. And the swordfighting that comes with the Wii Fit Resort disc- KILLER workout too!!!! And fun, since you get to kill people!

What?
lol seriously. im sword champion in my house :D
B gets SO PISSED whenever I beat him. Hilar!
Turbo Jam is AWESOME! Charlene kills me LOL. She is so fun, I never feel like I work out....of course I stopped working out because school is kicking my ass so I have no time for any more ass kicking motions.

And I also have the wii sports, which also, I don't have time for. 5 more weeks, then this hellish school term will be done!
ok i'm officially on the wii active bandwagon. i got my ass kicked, but i felt great after :)
Is there a set of Turbo Jam videos to buy together or should I start with a specific video? What are your recommendations for TJ video purchasing?

I used to watch the infomercials for it ALL the time - and I want it so bad! But I'm cheap, so I'm spying eBay.
i suggest hunting down a copy of the learn & burn if you only want to test it out. if you want to dive in, get the full set. 5 workouts, including the learn & burn, of differing lengths on 2 discs. it's annoying because everything's just called "turbo jam", but look for the set that has the cardio party and the ab jam :)
I bought the special all in one package that had the Beginners workout (like 15 minutes, so literally for first timers), the 20 Min. Cardio, Turbo Scuplt (strength training) Cardio Party (my favorite--45 min.) and Ab Jam, which strengthens your core and or course, gives you abs.

I don't care what 'experts' say about there being no way to target specific areas of the body...Ab Jam leaves me feeling like someone turned my stomch into a punching bag...but in a good way LOL. The package I got came with weighted gloves and and extra video Punch, Kick and Jam, and that is really hard-core, not much fun kind of workout. And I think for the PK&J you need resistance bands. But That's the package I got.

I also purchased 5 and 10 pound weight sets so I could do the Turbo Scuplt, although you can start the workout without it, and still get muscle building results. From someone who needs to lose literally 100 pounds, I found that this is a great workout and you can start out easy and build up your activity level as you get stronger/thinner. It really does work.
Hope this helps.
