anyone feeling that they are beating the statistics that say we were too young to get married and won't make it?
We will married 6 years in August and we are still going strong! We've been through money trouble, unemployment, in-law feuds, and having a baby. I feel like nothing can get us down.
I don't think there's a magic recipe for a 'perfect age' to get married. Some folks do it in their 30's and still aren't mature enough for it. Every couple is individual in their makeup, expectations, determinations, etc.
All we heard when we got married was that we were too young. Six years in we're still convinced it was the right decision. I agree with Melanie, there's no perfect age that will guarantee a good marriage.
Congrats!
I got married at 17 years old, I definately heard a lot of comments about our age, and not being ready for marriage. I won't say it's easy, because it isn't, but it will be 8 years in August.
We've been through all that and maybe a bit more... moving countries twice. :)
That in 4 years of marriage.
I will have to confess that the word divorce has crossed my mind in a couple of occasions... But the thought of not having her around killed it instantly...
We've been through some problems lately but somehow I think we go got the long run! :)
We've heard this before. A LOT of people assumed it was a shotgun wedding. Once 9 months passed and no baby, people believed us. It'll be 7 years this July.
