How did you and your spouse come to be?

I didn't see this discussion on here yet and thought I'd start it, as it's always neat to hear how couples came to be!

For my husband and I, our story actually goes back to when we were in 8th grade.

I actually wrote a 2 part blog post on "our story," with part 1 telling how we met and part 2 being about the evolution of our friendship and eventual relationship.

My roommate was the president of our dorm in college. My husband was the president of the dorm across the street. They got to know each other through residence hall council stuff, and one day, my roommate invited him to come to lunch with the two of us. We ended up becoming really good friends and party buddies. We eventually started dating, but broke it off when he realized he was going to have to move back to Oregon (2,000 miles away.) We stayed friends, though, and as I was finishing up grad school, we decided to give it another go. A few months later, I moved to Oregon. It's been over 4 years, and now we're married and expecting our first child in a few months. :) He's the best thing that's ever happened to me, and that's saying a lot, because I've had a pretty awesome life.
