The Bloggers With The Most To Say

I'm 27 and I feel like I've been having my Quarterlife Crises since I was 20 and still going strong. If I were a bit older it would be a midlife crisis and honestly I'm starting to think this is going to last right on up to my midlife crisis! Ack.

So, honestly when did you all start freaking out and how long did it last?

I hear ya! I'm 27 as well and think between the economy of the past couple years and other factors for our generation, people our age have had trouble figuring out their place in the world etc. A generation or two ago, it seemed people followed a more straightforward path in their personal and professional lives.
Yes I agree that the economy has put those of us just starting out into a crunch. It's rougher to get started in life right now. Drives me crazy!

I'm going to agree with this, too -- I think that I would have settled into one career (teaching) earlier if the economy and other job field-related factors hadn't forced me to switch.  I'm just starting a (second?) career now... and that makes me feel like I haven't fully established "who I am" yet.  Is that silly/strange?

I TOTALLY understand what you're saying. I threw myself into one direction (law) because I thought it was a responsible life choice. Now, at 27, I'm starting a second career (PR/journalism) and I'm terrified that it's too late and that I shouldn't be changing course while I'm still so young.

ah, mine started as soon as i moved home from college
I hope yours doesn't last too long.
Me too!!!
I've been going strong since about halfway through my senior year of college. I am hoping it doesn't last TOO much longer and I'm trying to take proactive steps to be sure it doesn't, but who knows! Hopefully there is an end to it in sight!
I like movies that address my issues. Have you seen 'Post Grad'? There is a lot that I don't relate to, but a lot that I do.
I wish there were more movies that could relate to our lives. I loved a lot of post-grad too!
I've been up and down ever since I graduated from college a long time ago. I graduated before the economy went south so before then it wasnt about finding a job so much as finding one that I really liked and didnt feel like I was wasting my life away. Also relationships and dating, I'm not sure if its LA or not but dating has been weird. How about you guys, what citites do you live in and how is dating there?
I think dating is weird, no matter where you live, and so is making new friends when you're an adult.  I have friends in several different states who all agree -- it's much easier to make good friends in college, when you have a particular forum to meet people with similar interests (and values?).
