The Bloggers With The Most To Say

I'm really sorry to be mean, but do any of you fellow singles find the married/mommy blogs boring as fuck?

Let's face it, being single (especially in a place like NYC) makes for a far more interesting life to blog about. I know I have to settle down someday, but reading about people baking, watching Oprah and doing crafts is not appealing to me.

If anyone wants to offer a rebuttal and send a link to a good housewife blog that isn't a play by play of gardening, feel free!

OH MY GOD! All the fucking pink and shit about napkins, I mean seriously. And there's a whole empire of knitting and croche'ing. I have no idea how to spell that. But seriously, it's hard to believe how deafeningly prevalent it is to single people blogs.
haha I agree! I've seen so many mom blogs that may be interesting to other moms, but def not to me. I love being a single blogger!
oh my god I KNOW. I participated in this 'follow me tuesday' thing a couple weeks ago, just wanting to get some new readers. Seriously, all of the women that were associated with that were moms who were talking about baby stuff and crafts and just... i mean i seriously couldn't believe how much all of their blogs were exactly the same. I am happy for them, that they are happy and secure in their lives, but seriously. It's just boring to me at this point. I read so much of it that it made me actually reconsider having children lol. Nah, I'm not that dramatic, but I am very thankful for my freedom at this time in my life, and you're right, it definitely makes for much more interesting blogging!! I'm a 26 year old hopelessly romantic but SINGLE lesbian who has recently decided that I'm HAPPY TO BE SINGLE!!!

Haha, I have to laugh at this thread because someone just asked me what I would do if and when I decided to date someone seriously -- can't have a dating blog if I'm in a relationship, right?

My response was "Maybe I'll become one of those insufferable Mommy Bloggers."

Unfortunately, your kids are never interesting to anyone else except for you.
Not counting mine (still new* at this!), single blogs are WAYYYY more fun! I live for all those dating stories! I'm not brave enough to get out there and date on my own, so I rely on you guys!!

*Okay, had my blog for a long time, just haven't been regular at all with writing in it....and still pretty unsure of what I even should write about!!
I think it depends on a person..

I can be quite boring because I'm broke 90% of the time, so no nights out for me, combined with working 80 hours a week does take its toll. And then there are married/family bloggers that I just enjoy reading (like Tanis)...

But I can't stand reading about snotty, dirty children. It's a big turn-off for me. And a lot of the younger bloggers end up turning into total mommy bloggers as soon as they breed. It's like a 'must-do' thing until you find your feet in "mommyness" and can separate yourself from being a mother. And the pictures.. *shudder* THE PICTURES! It's like you have to tell the blogger that their kids are cute even though they look like monkeys with mud all over their hairy faces... *gag*
How nerdy am I that I LOVE arts and crafts, and my favorite sites (besides blogger.com, facebook, etc) are cutoutandkeep.com and whatnot?

But I'm sure that my blog is a bit boring for a single gal too--it's less about dating and more about intellectual/ political/ philosophical things, and occasionally about really stupid things that I think about.

You're not nerdy at all. Arts and crafts are cool:) Haha, I realise that I'm replying almost two years later but *oh well*

yeah, being single IS fun... and i'm richer. i'll give that up one of these days, but not today.

besides, i'm moving to NYC, soon. psh. =)
you know what i have to agree with the statement title!!

i came out of a 5 and half year relasionship last year and i am having the best time been single i cant imagine been with anyone right now

I am having way too much fun being single right now to even consider changing it. I rather be living my life doing whatever the hell I want than to be a housewife and mommy. Screw that crap honestly.

While I love reading those married/mommy blogs but they really do all seem the same after a while.

Reading single blogs keeps me from beating myself up over still being single and not being TOO concerned about it.
