The Bloggers With The Most To Say

I'm looking for advice on a cruise for next January. We have a smaller budget so this was our best option for a little vacation.

Read my blog:post:http://gatsbydiaries.blogspot.com/2010/05/random-thoughts-friday.html

Any advice on NCL versus Carnival? We're doing Western Caribbean in Jaunary 2011.

Thanks!

I've gone on 3 cruises with NCL and enjoyed my experience. They're all about the "free style" cruising, so no set dining times. I believe it runs a little cheaper than the other cruise lines, but on the flip side you have to pay little fees for certain specialty restaurants. Never been on Carnival, but I would recommend NCL.

Have you checked out cruisecritic.com? they have a really great forum and cruise review board where you can get tons of info.

Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any specific NCL cruise questions and I can do my best to answer :)

I have been on Royal Caribbean not NCL or Carnival. I loved my experience with Royal Caribbean we did an Eastern Caribbean cruise and the price was just right. I believe we paid a little under 500 dollars to cruise for 5 days and 4 nights and I will be cruising again with them! I have a friend who cruised with Carnival and she had nothing but good words to say about them. They are better priced I believe. I just posted something about cruises on my blog:

I like Royal Caribbean over NCL, RC tends to cater to a younger crowd. I would recommend an indoor room, as it is completely dark and the cheapest option. Unless you're opting for a balcony, a window is just a window.
My in-laws love Carnival, both the old folks and my 22-year-old sister-in-law. I haven't tried it myself. I've only been on Celebrity, which is mostly senior citizens, ha.
