I want to know what products you have used and would recommend for other breastfeeding mothers. We all have our little secrets for what made our lives easier now it is time to share.
I'll start.
The itz been timer. This little timer has reminded me when my brain simply could not and would not work do to lack of sleep. It has many features including a night light and a button to remind you what breast you nursed off of last. Great product and I would highly recommend this. It is a lot better then writing every thing down although I would still recommend doing that till you know for sure your baby is nursing enough/enough wet and soiled diapers. This retails for $24.99 at Target but is sold at a number of places. I know it seems like a lot of money for a timer but it is so worth it.
Next on my list is the Arms Reach Co-Sleeper. It is amazing!!!! We used it the entire first month for her to sleep in our room next to me so that I would not have to get up to nurse.
Totally paid for its self in that time period. We still use it in our living room and around the house to but her in while we get things done. I think of it as a changing table on wheels now, we use it in the bathroom at bath time to dry her off and put her cloths on. It is very useful and I would also highly recommend this. It has one pocket on each side of the Co-Sleeper to put diapers, wipes and anything else you may need during the night. It also converts to a play pen for a small trips with your baby. When It came via ups one of the wheels was broken so I called the Arms Reach company and they sent a new one right away. They do not sell these in stores yet but they are sold at a number of online stores. I bought mine from Babies R' Us online it was a bit of a hassle to get one cause they kept selling out but once I did I was very happy. Retail on this is $164.99.
Well I had a rented pump for a while which I LOVED, and wish I still had
As for essential, I'd say my boppy when she was little, it was so nice, and we still use it now to prop her up or for tummy time, also I used the breast pads that you can microwave they were made by Lansinoh, they were called soothies I think they have this gel in them you can also put them in the fridge, I had mastitis twice, and these helped SO MUCH, I also got some natural nipple cream from whole foods that really helped out, it was made by motherlove. But I'd say mostly those soothies during the mastis.
