I once flattered myself with the thought that I was an artist. That was until I left art college and joined the world of advertising. Being an artist is a solitary pursuit. I've read parts of Heart of Darkness. I just read a Vietnam War book you might like entitled The Things They Carried by Tim O'Brien. There's a character named Mary Jane whose experience in the jungle is very much like Kurtz in Heart of Darkness. It's an interesting comparison. But also on your list one of my faaavorite books is Wuthering Heights. I read it over and over and over again. I've also read Memoirs of a Geisha, Jane Eyre and Pride and Prejudice and many other Jane Austin novels, lol. Definitely interested to follow you and see what other recommendations come up! I'll be sure to send some your way as well!
