BAGONG ADAN (born 05 May 1983) was once an intern in the public relations office of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, once a writer for Sun Star Baguio, once an instructor of English at Mapua Institute of Technology (Intramuros), and once the school administrator of the Blessed Angels Achievers Integrated School, Inc.
He studied at the University of Santo Tomas where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, and after which, he finished English Education the following year. He also took up MA Creative Writing at the UST Center for Creative Writing and Studies where he met his biggest literary idol, Ophelia Alcantara-Dimalanta. He was a part of the 3rd Varsitarian Fiction Workshop, and once won a gold and a bronze medal for poetry in English and Filipino, respectively, from a literary contest sponsored by the UST Education Journal.
Bagong Adan was managing their family-owned YLL Highland Place, a five-storey dormitory in Baguio City, while he kept himself busy at the University of the Philippines Graduate School taking up Master of Arts in Language and Literature, until he went to Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk in Russia to teach English at Intellect Language Institute.
Now that he’s back to the Philippines, he’s finishing his graduate school course works to be a full-fledged professor. At present, he is an instructor of English, Communication Arts and Literature at the University of the Philippines.
