Degree in Photojournalism from the University of Tennessee, moved to Nashville last year to work in Politics and now headed to Washington, DC for a little of the same. Lived in Italy for a year; like climbing, fly-fishing, photography, politics, the gym, music and anything outdoors.
(The picture is my friends and I on a fly-fishing trip to Estes. I'm in the middle.)
Not long (and I don't know that I qualify as being "in ads" -- no agency career here, at least not yet.) But I've been writing professionally for a couple years.
I actually clapped my hands over my face and shouted "Nooooo!" when I got to the end of that post. Your friend is both an epic hero and a giant asshole. Well played.
I've never been to Inner Peaks, but the National Whitewater Center has some climbing stuff too. Not that I've tried that either. I am more of a runner than anything. I have also been known to go camping, skiing and wakeboarding, though not necessarily in that order.
For sushi, I recommend Sushi 101, and for drinks and fun, the Epicenter. There are a lot of new bars there, and it's pretty fun. For a more laidback bar try BuckHeads or Dixies. Those are my personal favorites.
I'm gonna get right on that lumpy bumpy action. Keep an eye out!
Oh Charlotte! A city filled with fun and glamour! Or not.
I have had my horse since I was 12, so I have been riding for 11 years? Long time. I do dearly love her, but she is getting on up there in years, poor thing. Colorado sounds cool, I feel that Charlotte shall certainly pale in comparison to your adventures in that state.
I've lived in Charlotte all my life, but I'd like to take up for my faux fruit leather. It was Trader Joe's Fiberful, and very ingestable. I used the word faux more as a joke than anything else. It's just made of dried fruit and a few other ing. It's organic. I would not eat it otherwise. Sorry that my rather dry sense of humor did not register, lol.
ha! well, piano and guitar. i claim piano, i usually don't claim guitar. guitar is a pretty dismal attempt. and if you wanna dig back a few years, i played oboe? yes? meh.
i have NEVER been fishing. of any kind. it's a travesty; it was my grandfather's favorite activity but i was never old enough to go while he was still well enough. boo. hiss.
bummer that you can't make the meet up but i'm definitely gonna try to make hanging out a semi-regular thing so we'll get you in the next time around.
Yeah, love's really the only reason anybody should be in music :) You write kind of all over the place then! Do you have any affinities for specific genres? (dumb question:))
I started playing ukulele in March. It might have had something to do with *my* affinity for Jason Mraz, but I was chatting with my new roommate one night and for some reason I said, "I think if I learned to play anything else, I'd want to learn to play ukulele." And a few months later she handed over a ukulele shaped package for my birthday and there's been no going back. I'm in love with it. As with all of my instrumental endeavors, I'm really no virtuoso, but it's been great for singing along to and writing songs with.
I'll make sure to get you more details on our meetup once we get some things set in stone, because you definitely need to come hang out. Warning: it will be mostly girls. But I can't see how that would bother you :)
I moved in January and I'm still kind of trying to find my footing. :)
I've gotten lots of great compliments on that album cover, which is funny because I was just sitting at a bar listening to some guy play a guitar when I scribbled it out. Not much thought to it but I did fall in love with it. I'm glad you like it :)
Where do you review music? Do you write for someone specific?
