Where do you live:
Wonju, South Korea
Relationship Status:
Married
About Me:
"Well she was an American girl, raised on promises.
She couldn't help but thinking there was a little more to life somewhere else.
After all it was a great big world with lots of places to run to..."

Turns out, I did run a lot of places. Keun Ha and I got married in February 09 and then went to Bangkok, hiked in Nepal for two weeks, spent two months in India, a week with our friends in England, and 3 months with my parents and friends in the States. We're back from our 6 month honeymoon and we've settled in Wonju, South Korea. It's just lovely here!

Age:
26
How long have you been blogging:
Since 2007. But I got serious in February of 2008.
Fill in the blank: "People who like _________ will love my blog!"
keeping their eyes open, laughing loudly and inappropriately, reading well-written books, loving others, straightforward criticism and appreciation, rants, underground adventures, and an openness and vulnerability towards the unknown

Jindos can do fine in an apartment, actually. In fact, the main Jindo rescue in the USA is run by a woman in an apartment!

Jeju is pretty different from Jindo. Jeju's not much bigger, but it's a lot more modernized. Jindo is still extremely rural - one of my 7 schools didn't have indoor plumbing, and most of the houses my students lived in only had outhouses. That said, I did really enjoy getting to live somewhere that is more "real" than somewhere like Seoul or Busan.

You live in one of the locations I considered working in when I lived in Korea! I no longer live in the Land of the Morning Produce Trucks, but it's nice to see someone living in Gangwondo.

Wow what a cool experience. It must have been such a culture shock to move there.

And I love your blog! Funny thing is, I've been thinking a lot about Asia lately, I have dreams of volunteering at one of the moon bear sanctuaries, those are in China or Vietnam though.

Still, I can only imagine what an incredible but somewhat challenging experience it is. Kudos to you for following your heart!
